We're almost half way through the season, we have 1 win in 17, our top scoring striker has three goals and we're three points adrift of safety. How the **** are we not in a relegation battle?!

Time for the players to shut up, man up and do their job to the best of their ability. If they can do that, then they can say whatever they like.

Is Stockdale thick,

erm well I suppose that we should not assume that just because he is a professional footballer that he is thick but not the brightest thing to say that's for sure.

My question, and I thought that this was obvious, was based on the interview that Stockdale gave. If you are implying that I am suggesting that he is thick because he is a footballer, well, you have jumped to a strange, and wrong, conclusion.

To be clear, I do not believe that professional footballers, as a body, are thick.

But some are, and Stockdale has given an interview that suggests that he may be one of these.

The other magic quote in today's Argus was that Hyypia claimed to have plans B and C but the players haven't been able to carry them out. One of these plans appears to be using a long throw. Now in my book that doesn't qualify as a plan.

It doesn't even qualify as an idea, let alone a plan

Umm, David. Let me take you on one side and explain how the league system works. Now, you see, the three bottom clubs at the end of the season are relegated to the league below. Historically, your league position at Christmas is a reasonably good predictor of where you are going to end up at the end of the season. At the moment, one game before Christmas, we are 22nd, 3 points short of safety. Can I suggest that you focus on saving shots and passing/throwing the ball to one of our players, preferably one who doesn't have an opposition player breathing down his neck, and leave the pontificating about league position to those who understand a little about how the league works, basic arithmetic and can look at a trend of 17 games and do some extrapolation? There's a good chap. FFS.

No mate, I wasnt implying you were, o I was. Goes to show how message boards can be read in lots of ways! What is for sure is that our players have been sh!t this season and we are 3 points from the relegation zone with a player who doesn't seem too worried about it. Time he and the rest of them shut up and showed some fight on the field and won some points.

Today's complete-and-utter-bollocks quote from the Amex comes from David Stockdale...

1. “We’re not in a relegation fight." - yes, yes we are.

2. "I firmly believe that. If we keep playing and getting in the positions we did on Friday, with the talent we’ve got we’ll come through it." - we were utter toilet on Friday. More of the same is an express journey to relegation central.

3. “Everyone goes through bad spells and hopefully our good spell will come from now till the end of the season." - a bad spell? A bad spell? Really?
The club are all in complete denial! Bordering on arrogance
