Unfounded rumour = 6 page binfest.

Cracking form there.

Wait til we get to the " difficult Christmas period " when, if results have not improved it may well be bye the for Sami. 30 pages + I reckon.

Unfortunately the loan window only allows loans from English clubs, so any scouting of clubs near basque caves is unlikely to be very productive.

Wouldn't want him back. Our problem is with the strikers and service provided to them. Bridcutt is a defensive player. He's got a terrible attitude anyway so why would we approach him?

Both he and Buckley are Poyet players and their loyalty always lay with him not the Albion. I have no doubt that their attitudes, once Poyet left were influenced by him, for that reason I'd never want them back. By the same token I imagine we would be the last club either of them would want to go to on loan.

Yes but i seem to recall also kept the vast majority of his toys in his pram and stayed focused and for that matter had no suspicious injuries/viruses that kept him from the field of play and did things properly..

"Suspicious injuries / viruses" work as much for the club as the player. Neither want a £3m / treble your wages deal to hit a snag because an injury in the last game before the deal is struck. To assume that the club didn't have a reason to keep him out of the side for a game in January always seemed somewhat blinkered by those who turned on Liam about it.

After the way Gus et al were treated I'm CERTAIN they wouldn't want to come back.

I must have missed the revelation about what actually went on and how the blame was distributed, can you enlighten me?

Hey, it's all Chinese whispers and gossip isn't it? Interesting how the real reason he was sacked was never made public, when obviously it would make the club look far better if they just told us what Gus did that was so awful that they had to sack a very successful manager.

he did very well with us , very good at pinging the ball about...attitude...?? prfftt..!! i'm just a builder.
I don't know if you are old enough to remember our greatest captain, Nobby Horton? Can't imagine he'd have given anything less than 100% even if a move was on the cards.

The same Elliott Bennett who put in a transfer request? I don't blame any player who leaves for more money.

Whilst I do not blame a player for leaving, especially when the move increases the money they earn AND allows themselves to play against some of the best players in the world. However, there is no way you can compare the attitudes shown by Elliott Bennett and Liam Bridcutt.

Elliott Bennett had been out on loan to Bury before we signed him from Wolves. He obviously felt his chances of breaking in to the Wolves team were limited, despite the fact he had shown he was a talented young player durring his loan spells at other clubs. Therefore dropped down a league to play for us, and if we're honest, it was always a way of furthering his career in the long run. He was quite frankly brilliant for us and when this was noted by Norwich he understandably wanted to persue a career at a higher level. He then stayed for the rest of the season at the request of Tony Bloom and helped us to the L1 title, picking up over 20 assits that season. After being a key part in our league winning team, he moved on and I don't think any of our fans can begrudge him that.

Liam Bridcutt on the other hand was a free agent, despite having 3 different loan spells with clubs from the Championship through to L2 nobody came in for him and he spent the first few months of the season on trial with a few clubs, none of which thought he was worth it. In short, his footballing career was at risk of being over before it ever begun. Would he have shone quite so brightly in a team that didn't play our style of football? Probably not. I think he's the best midfielder we had durring the Withdean years, but I think it's entirely possible that if we had turned him down his career would be a million miles, or at least 2-3 years behind where it is now. Despite this he acted in a completly classless way when he heard that Sunderland wanted to sign him. The whole thing about not playing because his head wasn't in the right place was a f*cking joke, and an insult to the fans.

That's how I saw both incidents anyway, and I'm quite frankly delighted that Bridcutt has found it difficult to adjust at Sunderland.

A pedant replies Elliott Bennett dropped two divisions to join us from Wolves and Bridcutt is playing at Sunderland albeit from the bench.

No fooking way would I accept that little shit back at the Albion after he refused to play for us.
He can rot in Yorkshire for ever more.

Both left to join a team a division above us though. One did it with a bit of class, one behaved like a spoilt brat.
