For entertainment value, to have a fractious and chippy individual like him clash head-on with "one manager per season but we're never given a reason" senior club management?

It'd be like the Titanic and the iceberg all over again: fun to watch certainly but with a disastrous outcome for both parties.

I think the iceberg was fine...

Albion were today told bookies’ favourite Tim Sherwood is the man to get them promoted – if they can get him. The current Tottenham manager was as short as 6-1 ON to become Albion’s next boss last night as they began the search for a replacement for Oscar Garcia.
Oscar’s resignation was accepted by the Seagulls after talks yesterday, leaving chairman Tony Bloom hunting for his third manager or head coach in little more than a year.
Former Albion midfielder Warren Aspinall, who now follows them as a pundit for BBC Radio Sussex, has backed Bloom to make a wise appointment.

And he reckons Sherwood, who is expected to leave Spurs this summer, would be the best choice.
Apsinall said: “If Tottenham get rid of Tim Sherwood I would love him at the Amex.
“He’s a football man, he will put kids in, he has got a Plan B and he is a winner. I like the way we have played under Gus Poyet and Oscar but we have never had a Plan B.
“I played with Tim for England youth and I speak to him quite a bit.
“What he has done in the circumstances at Tottenham is unbelievable and he would be first choice for me.
“I’ve seen him go 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-3-3. “Oscar has done brilliantly after taking over from Gus, who was such a success.

Bizarre. I wouldn't care if he spoke like Arthur Mullard and Kathy Burke's lovechild if he got us promoted and stuck around for more than one season without making a total cock out of himself. Can't see any of that happening with Sherwood.

It's more what he says, as opposed to how he says it, I have an issue with. He's a clown in same category as Holloway and that bloke who was at Brentford...Martin Allen?

For what reason are some people against Sherwood so much? He's said some stupid things at times but he's done fairly well at a tottenham and plays attractive football.

What has he done so wrong to offend all us flowers? :lolol:

I'd be okay with him as manager but it's not going to happen. Too expensive.

The ONLY reason Sherwood would be any good, was if we intended on having a squad full of youth development players.
It's the only thing he was reasonable at doing at spurs.

1st team Coaching is a joke, I mean, WHO the **** sits in the stands as a manager instead of on the bench shouting and giving orders..

Tim Sherwood., PLEASE for the love of god NO !..

Anyone else loving the look of Dennis Bergkamp at 20-1? I would ****ing love that. Maybe Roland will put in a good word about the club... or maybe not.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pepe Mel in the mix. Hughton has also come in shorter at 5s on SkyBet

Not the real one
I'm happy with Sherwood and would give him my full support, those shouting 'please no', I don't think have any real reason to other than they want Di matteo etc. Sherwood hasn't done too much wrong at spurs and seems to tell it like it is. He doesn't suffer fools and I think he's only gonna come as 'manager' as he's old school. So if the current Head Coach set up is abandoned to get Sherwood, I'm even more happy.

Sherwood is still manager of Spurs. Until his contract finishes nothing will happen. Probably the end of the month.

Third manager in a year ??? If Oscar was one, and the new guy is a second, who is the third?

Would be a risk to get someone with pretty much no experience again. Dislike the man and seems to have an attitude problem.

Malky Mackay or di Matteo for me.

Absolutely this. It's imperative for me, that we appoint someone with experience of getting a team promoted from the Championship, so Malky MacKay has to be my firm favouriite.

Whether we can get him, and are prepared to pay his, I assume much higher salary than Oscar Garcia's, is entirely another matter. Norwich l imagine would be his preferred choice should he be offered the job there.
