You really are a sad individual, many of my friends are life long Albion fans but decide that their family is more important to spend their money on than going to football. Does it make them less of a fan? Of course not, going to football is a treat for many people these days due to the high cost of tickets trains etc.

Many of those who don't attend now, or do on the odd occasion, were there on the terraces during the years of oblivion. That is why I feel the need to challenge what appears to be a loftiness in the original post.

I think someone mentioned the number of older people who were at the play-off game, and they form a perfect dissection of the view that started this post. They probably attended games in the 40s/50s/60s, but then life moved on. My Dad being an example. I see no reason why they should be met with a different form of classification. Brighton & Hove Albion is their favourite football team, like me, and I don't regard them as second-class followers.

If people have more important things to do, or Albion is not a high priority in their life, then I'm sorry, they ain't "fans", they are 'interested occasional followers'.

It's on the telly for people like that - they can still fit in their 'other priorities' and won't have to pay the unaffordable train fares or ticket prices either. These people can do what they normally do, stay at home, and/or watch it on the tellybox.

No-one loses out.

Justice/Brighton Lines,

I'm not a sad individual at all, I've been a fan for 39 of my 51 years, and my 3 lads have been fans since they were old enough to make the 300 mile roundtrip with me. I reckon I have watched Albion live on about 850 occasions, and my 3 lads have each clocked up more than half the 92 grounds just watching Albion already. I'm not asking for any awards, I'm just saying when tickets are limited, rewarding loyalty first seems a logical approach, and it's the one that the Club's ticketing process is based on.

And, no, of course I'm not saying "don't bother coming then", I assume that's just a facetious jibe! You clearly either have limited resources, or choose to use your resources on different priorities in life, that's fine. Just don't expect to be at the front of the queue when it comes to limited tickets, that's all I'm saying.

It was merely a question for clarification, which you have given. All I'd add is that I don't think occasional attendees expect to be at the front of the queue for limited tickets. I have only just passed the 1200 point threshold for certain ticket availability, which means, thus far, I have missed out on some games. This is fair enough. I do not expect to take priority over those who go away a lot, or were season ticket holders at Withdean. I think the overwhelming majority of others share the same view.

Anyway, if you are on your way to the Midlands, enjoy your day.

And those tickets will be going to Derby! We have no chance today! Not feeling optimistic at all!

Agreed.

And if by some miracle we DO get past Derby surely we only need 500 - 2000 tickets as the final is effectively an away fixture.

Season ticket holders will get a ticket. In fact probably most people who have bought an amex tix will get one so dont see the problem.
