It was just when the Albion team was gelling together, a team that would take us from the 3rd to 1st division.

Ipswich were a top team and we thought our chance had gone after a heroic, but richly earned 0-0 draw at Portman road. In the replay, Ipswich took the lead but albion fought back splendidly before an electric atmosphere, oh those big nights at the Goldstone.

Albion were actually down to 10 men, due to injury, before graham cross, who NEVER scored, headed in an injury time winner from a corner infront of the North Stand A truly magic Goldstone game.

Also, check out the ref. Could it be Jack Taylor, a World Cup final ref? I believe it was.

Turn the East lower into standing and the Amex would have half a chance. The roar from the Wes at the Amex is very loud, but it just needs, like all grounds, a good standing area along the side to give it that something special.

I think that is unlikley but I think we could get close to 29000

Ive seen a few of these but not really followed the argument. Every club declares attendance on how many tickets clubs sell. Always have, even in the 80's so what's new?

Why are good times only remembered in by gone years.

In the 100 years that the Albion have been going there are not many times that are better than the times we are experiencing now.
We are currently in the top 15 best supported teams in the country
We are playing a style of football never seen at Brighton
If we finish the season as the 27th placed team in the country it will be a disappointment
We play in a world class stadium & we own it.

I could go on

We all like to reminisce about times gone by but lets not forget about the here & now because at the moment it is pretty damm good.

Absolutely this. My formative years whereas now is my sons' time to get into how we're doing. Also, football is probably unsurpassed in it's ability to hold a grudge/retain a key memory.

Maybe I am just being a bit naive.I was a bit too young to remember our great days in the late 70's but I remember the cup run in 83 & our demise following it.my first experience of success was promotion in 87/88 & that season still holds a special place in my heart.
