Here are my ratings for WWII, which finished a generation before I was born.

The Bosch:
Strong on paper and really should have walked this but ultimately undone by bombing down the flanks when they should have pressed home their numerical advantage down the centre.
Italy:
Too defensive. Alot of good work in their own half but looked lightweight when going forward and far happier passing it across their own back 4. No ambition.
France:
Hardly in the game. Went down under the first heavy challenge and never recovered.
Japan:
Started off brightly but threw it away with some crazy attacking tactics in the final 15 minutes.
Australia:
Solid and dependable
N Zealand:
As above
Poland:
Quality utility play. Unsung heroes who put in a full shift with some unselfish fetch and carry play. Did the simple stuff well.
Switzerland:
Anonymous throughout. Were they even on the pitch?
Russia:
Threw themselves in whole-heartedly but took a lot of punishment. Didn't get much from the ref.
Tommy:
Typical back-to-the-wall defending against the odds, only to go up the other end on 89 mins and nick it right at the death.

Late Sub
USA:
Good use of impact sub. Changed the game. Should have come on earlier through, or possibly even started?

Only 10? You missed out Belgium. Mind you, I can understand as they gave way right at the start of the game.

I missed Norway. Spent much of the 90 minutes getting caught off-side but constantly a thorn in the opposition's side. Always hard to defend against, especially at their place.

I was there in quite a good seat in the 2nd tier of the home stand.

TK - 8
Ward - 8 some nice overlapping runs
Dunk - 7
Greet - 7
Bruno - 7
Ince - 5 toilet first half, better 2nd
Stephens - 9 everywhere and picked up loads of loose ball
Buckley - 9 MOM and back to his best
JFC - 7 tidy
Lingard - 8 used his pace really well; his best game for us
Ulloa - 8 no proper chances but a master class in hold up play.

I was just posting what the radio suggested, and asked how accurate it was. Just wanted to hear from others who saw it in the flesh...

I always think our CM is the weak link in the team but today (going on the stream) there seemed to be a nice bite about the trio, Stephens especially! JFK IMHO gets picked because he best suits OG's footballing philosophies: can play the Barca way, almost Xavi/Iniestia like at times. Ince is obviously going to be a very good player in the future.
