Football is a SQUAD game. If Oscar doesn't feel he can trust the fringe players to get the job done we've got problems

Andrews was terrible you mug and Brezovan is better than the pig is he, now who looks the idiot but carry on

I didn't defend Andrews did I 'you mug'
and I said Brezovan distribution is better than PIG. I don't remember Brez slicing the ball out for a throw in yesterday, which DOES happen in pretty much every game for PIG.

We were 5 minutes from winning the tie.. If we'd taken a 6-0 tonking you may have a point. He obviously thought the fringe players out there were capable of doing a job whilst we put our main focus on winning promotion.

It's simple, if fans are happy with 7 changes with the opportunity to get to the quarter finals then I have no words left. Huuuuge opportunity lastnight and realistically with a full team out we'd have done it.

We MIGHT have lost with a full strength team, then we would only have had 1 game in 48 hours that would have SOLVED it!

Exactly!! If he had choosen a full strength team, underperformed and lost, people will moan about not giving other players opportunities.

We must start trusting OG. All his decisions have the club's best interest at heart.

It's been said before and it's going to be said here again, lastnights team selection was a total piss take out of fans and the F.A cup and I for one am gutted, I totally concur with Robbie Savage. Enormous opportunity to get to the quarter final of the FA CUP for a winnable tie against our former manager and would have also given us another big pay day and he makes 7 ****ing changes!

I half understand it against the likes of Port Vale but not against Hull who ended up making less changes than we did.

I'm not sure who he thinks we are to make that many changes and I hope the FA in the future fix it so that clubs cant change more than 3 players from a Saturday game or you may aswell just call it the Reserve team cup & we can play the games at Lancing. The only thing I can think is that he doesn't understand the F.A cup, what it means to the fans and it's history, is it not the greatest cup comp in the world?

Buckley - not fit
Chicksen - not good enough
JFC - was always going to lose the midfield battle
Brezovan - Distribution was poor
Andrews - terrible
Dunk - solid but rather have greer

It's not all about how the players do on the night, a solid team that are used to playing together obviousyly play better than sticking a load of players for a one off game.

No more FA cup games for me whilst Oscar is in charge, if he cant be arsed to put a winning team out then neither can I.

Are you for real?

I wasn't there last night but caught it on the TV. Lets have a look at your 'assessment'.

Buckley - Did well in the 45 min he was on, set up the goal.
Chicksen - Define 'not good enough'? I thought he did well against Elmohamady. Considering he's not had much game time and this is a higher level than he's played before.
JFC - 'was always going to lose the midfield battle' Was he? He may not be as physically strong as someone like Huddlestone, but i don't think he 'lost' anything. He hada good game from the 1st to the 90th.
Brezovan - 'Distribution was poor' - if that's the only criticism you can level against him then you're really struggling.
Andrews - 'terrible' - personally i thought he did ok. Not great, but then not abysmal either.
Dunk - 'solid but rather have greer'. I'm not even going to dignify this with a response.

When does half term finish? You won't be missed if you can't understand the concept of squad rotation for a CUP game which wouldn't be #1 priority for us.

"It's not about how the players do on the night". Oh, well we might as well decide the score before the game and not bother with it. you really are a buffoon.

Said this in the Robbie Savage thread:

The team that played was a variation on the squad that's played in every cup game this season. It's only right that OG is consistent with that. They're the team that got us to this stage so they deserve to play.

People were bigging Hull up to be this titan of the Premier League when in reality they're pretty poor. We matched them with our "weakened" squad. I'd be more inclined to fume at the shocking referee not awarding three clear free kicks late on.

If you lot are happy with seeing 7 changes for a huge FA cup game then good luck to you. We should have gone all out to win it lastnight, we didn't and paid the price and now have to face two games in 48 hours. He's de-valued the comp, end of!

Andrews wasn't amazing - but equally wasn't terrible.

Also, fail to see who we could have played instead in that midfield position who would realistically have been better.

He has not 'devalued' it, so it isn't the 'end of'. We have a SQUAD of players. These players have all (bar Dunk i think) played in the league so far - it's not 11 changes and a load of youngsters, it's making the most of the team we have.

And Yes, i'm happy with those changes. Giving the players a chance to get back to fitness (Buckley) and some experience against an (albeit poor) Premier League team (Chicksen, Ince, March) then it's all good.

I'd rather lose in a cup we have no realistic chance of winning than gamble and lose a league game which may cut us adrift of the play-offs.

It seems you're just overdramatically bitter and angry for no apparent reason, of it's a massive fishing trip.

Judging by some of the replies on here I guess I'd better hold up my hands and say I belong in the group being called 'idiots'.

How many supporting OG in the team he put out can say hand on heart that had this been a game that could have ensured promotion or been a final against Hull, OG would have selected the players he did tonight? I most certainly don't.

I've seen the question asked, "what's the point of having a squad if you don't use it?" - well I have a spare wheel in the car which will do a perfectly serviceable job but I hope I never have to use it.

We may not have won last night's game if we had fielded our strongest team, we'll never know, but we shouldn't be in the position of having to speculate.

So what team would you have picked then?

Yes, Andrews didn't have a great game, but in reality the player whose place he took was Dale stephens.... who was cup-tied?!

Buckley and LuaLua are 1st team players anyway.

There were probably only 3 ACTUAL changes rather than 7. That is the Goalkeeper who has played every round so far and didn't put a foot wrong last night.
Chicksen and Dunk, who have also played every round so far and also had good games and hard to argue they were to blame for not winning the game.

The only person de-valuing the cup, is the person stamping their feet and crying that they won't go next time.

No chance of winning? We'd have been in the quarter finals against a beatable sunderland team which could have given us a semi final, a day at wembley (seen many of those have we?)

It seems you're just overdramatically bitter and angry for no apparent reason, of it's a massive fishing trip.

I'm not fishing at all, i'm very dissapointed
