I might be in the minority here but don't see a loan and reduced cash fee for Bridcutt and Buckley as beneficial. We lose two or our better players in return for a player for a short term who may or may not fit in during this period and come the summer have less cash to replace. And bearing in mind how we appear to be struggling to get players in this window that prospect doesn't fill me with confidence.

its a gamble and if it comes off we will have 60m to spend some on this lad maybe?

Apologies. Got excited there!
Friend at another championship club says their MD mentioned in passing today that we were signing Wickham - he was joking about how pissed Mandaric would be :lolol:
As it wasnt his club he didnt ask any more detail so could be inside info or could be an MD who reads the papers/twitter

We'll see. Gus seems focussed on the Scocco deal ATM.

If it's a loan, it's fine - as long as the price for B&B are what we wanted, and Wickham is just a sweetener.

Not happy to see Buckley go though. If he gets over his injury problems, we'll regret letting him go, whatever fee we've agreed.

Agreed. Much rather keep him. Cardiff say they are close to signing Zaha & Fabio, so will that free up Conway to repalce Buckley??

That's because the Albion/ Wickham situation is a done deal, he's moving on to the next one now. Not sure whether to use the  smiley or the :jester: one though...

Could it be that the club, knowing more than us think that having Wickham on loan for the rest of the season will allow CMS and Hoskins who are already our players to get back, to match fitness ready for next season especially if we are still in The Championship. If we do get promoted we wil be in a better financial position to buy players for the Premier.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Touche.

Except I pretty much NEVER slag players off.

QUOTE]

I have quietly labelled you a Leo-basher of late. Very unnecessary i feel. Finding his feet again after that one of them broke and i am not sure where he'll find form again on the sideliness or with a chorus of sneers. I find him an inch or two away from being top class again.
Bad Hans Kray.

Sorry Meado. We all want the real Leo back. He'll find his form a lot quicker by working hard and SMILING occasionally, than he will PLODDING about and whining at the ref all game. Its like he thinks the world is against him, at the moment.

Bridcutt and Buckley combined have contributed very little to the cause this season and we are more than halfway through and in a good position... I think if we can cover Buckley by getting Conway( or likewise) and get someone in to cover Crofts, with any money we received + the Barnes money. Then getting Wickham on loan until the end of the season, including play offs with an option to buy if promoted, makes perfect sense. If this all comes to pass, we are a shoe in for top 6.

Mostly agree. Bridcutt going , fine , can cover that .

Buckley I agree to a point but every team needs genuine match winners who dont always do the business. Buckley is very much a matchwinner . Consistancy poor though so selling may not be such a bad idea. Cant help thinking that when teams announced and Buckleys in that I fancy us to turn it on. Doesnt often happen though but I bet we miss him to a point
