MASSIVELY AGREE with you on that Kev. On the TV the other day the pundits were saying what a fantastic turnout it was at the Liberty Stadium with 20k fans in attendance. Hang on a moment, surely something is a miss if we're averaging almost 8k per game more, and probably charging more the pleasure. Loaning everyone elses cast offs will soon become tedious and my fear is that people will lose interest if there is an apparent lack of ambition.

You are aware that we currently lose 8m a year?

You're comparing us with Swansea, who are in the Premier League and get in the region of 60-70m a year for finishing near the bottom. They could let everyone in free for a year and their turnover would still be 3x what ours is.

No, that's the first I've heard about it

Genuine question...Has Cms been a massive disappointment. Or has he simply been played out of position and asked to do a job alien to him, then suffered a crisis of confidence because of it???...I personally still think there is a player there, christ knows a lot of good judges were after him. I suppose the truth is the jury is out and we won't really know until he is up and running again. I'm sure he will be chomping at the bit to get going again.

have to agree with that

So why are you agreeing with the moan that we're not spending enough money then?

Spending enough? Spending anything maybe. Having sold Barnes and selling Bridcutt I would like to us invest in a quality player, that's all. I think it's unrealistic to expect promotion by scratching around for freebies and cast offs. I don't want the club to run into financial turmoil but a little reinvestment isn't a completely outrageous request.

We're yet to find out.

I am well aware we are losing £8m a year and am also well aware why. A hell of a lot of eggs were put in a certain basket and a hell of a lot of money was spent. That doesn't change the fact that is it us that are footing the bill, for someone else's short comings. If we can pull in £5/6m this January in transfer fees, it would still be nice to see a couple go out on a signing the fans can get excited about. After all it is the fans who keep paying up.

He's been asked to play as a striker, admittedly alone a lot of the time, but the first and foremost imoprtant part of his game is to score goals. He lacks the basic attributes to do so. If I was paid a lot of money to do and a job but couldn't fulfil the main element of the job spec I'd expect the receive a lot of flack for it.

Agree with the OP I also think CMS will come back a stronger and better player under Garcia.

Of course he has. I can't believe that even his most staunch supporter could suggest otherwise.

There are plenty of players who have thrived under a change of manager and vice versa. Poyet never played to CMS strengths. And I can't believe even his most staunch supporter could suggest otherwise.

Bridcutt hasn't been sold yet. We're not going to hear about any re-investment of that cash until he is (if he is eventually sold in this window).

Loans and 'free transfers' aren't free. Players like Conway, Ward, Agustien and Andrews are all on premier League deals and will cost a fair amount in wages.

Nobody knows how effective CMS might be in the second half of the season. He doesn't have to come back and be devastating, he just needs to get match-fit so he can have an impact at the business end of the season. Specifically, he needs to be ready and firing at the end of March when Obika's 3-month loan comes to an end.

I know it's a football cliché but his return really will be like signing a new player.

But it's pretty obvious he is going to be sold, and has been for a while. I guess I'd like to have seen a preemptive strike and get player/s in at the start of window. I'm just not a fan of these Transfer Windows to be honest.
I understand that getting loans and freebies doesn't cost nothing, but it's not the club getting the player thay want, it's us getting other peoples crap.

You are not footing the bill; Tony Bloom is.

Again, we have pulled in only 750k in transfer fees. That will cover Ince's improved wages and, hopefully, Conway's wage until May. I'm happy with that. If Bridcutt were to be sold for 4m tomorrow, then yes, I might start expecting a player or 2 to be bought to replace him or strengthen in other areas.
