Gotsmanov

Good shout although I was more angry than gutted when Southampton nicked him as he was technically not our player at the time if I remember rightly.

I was not that worried when Bobby went, he had really given us his all and stayed at least one season longer than I though we would be able to keep him. When he left I was grateful for his time with us but knew that sooner or later he would go to a bigger club. Pity it never quite worked out for him.

Probably Zamora, Nelson, Small, Byrne and now Barnes.

There seems to be a pattern!

Actually, I'll add Dean Wilkins to my three earlier. I was gutted when he left as a player and a manager.

As mentioned on another thread, I know he was out of form (temporarilly as it turned out) but I was devastated when we sold Kurt Nogan. Had scored 20+ goals two seasons on the bounce, was already on 14, but went on a 20 game drought.

Brady sold him for £250k ish and whilst that money was used to bring Storer in shortly after, we were relegated the following season with no-one hitting double figures. Not even Junior McDougald could save us!!!

Nogan on the other hand went on to score goals galore at Burnley and PNE...

Murray by far, it all seemed so pointless and difficult to understand, on one hand we signed Hoskins and CMS who were unknown quantities in terms of whether they would fit in on the other hand we let our top goalscorer go for free, and he would have preferred not to. Gutted.

Also Crofts the first time round for some reason.

In my defence, I was young at the time and he gave me a pair of his shin pads after a match. He could do no wrong in my eyes after that.

Fair enough. I was quite young then too. Wendy was never one of my favourites though.

His limp tackling used to do my head in, and his reputation as a free kick specialist was, in my humble opinion, completely unjustified on the basis of his actual record (I think he scored two, albeit one was in quite epic circumstances).

Gotsmanov was on loan but like others gutted when we didn't pick him up and he spent his time in Saints stiffs...

Byrne or Small.. For me the most dynamic partnership I've seen at the Albion.. Hated swing it broken up.
