I agree, if Bridcutt went there after all the fuss that Gus has made over him, and he doesn't quite cut it the Sunderland fans won't be that forgiving and it could backfire on both of them.

I think Gus has got you playing ok with the players he has got and he is only a couple of back to back wins away from moving out of the relegation zone. There are plenty of quality loans and free signings out there. He has just got Marcos Alonso, is that a Di Fanti signing or a Gus one?
I am not sure what is going on at the club but I am sure gus would not have the final day althoughi do hope he has now input than pdc who had none at all

Bridcutt £4.5m or do one. We have a reasonable chance of making the play offs and from there who knows? Buckley tricky one, seems to have stagnated a bit plus the injuries I would do business at around £2.5m upwards he could still develop into a decent PL player IMO but not sure if it will happen especially if he loses a yard of pace through all these Hammy's...

In English please?

WakeyTom is not privy to any inside information, but he feels it is unlikely that Gus has the final say on transfers. He does, however, hope that Gus has at least some involvement with transfers, even if it's not the final say. Paulo DiCanio had no input in transfers.

Buckley seems to play less these days with injuries - Conway as replacement?. Bridcutt. less worried now with Rohan now on the scene.

I'd want the going rate and a big whack bonus on staying up. 6m + another 10m.

And Ince isn't a replacement. We will suffer with a loss of Liam, let's hope if it happens we get enough compensation to help strengthen the team.

Hahahahaha

That would make him the most expensive UK defensive midfielder EVER (assuming you agree carrick doesn't play the same position).

The other point about Bridcutt is that we've already denied him a Prem move by turning the Palace offer down. If Bloom were to deny him a second time the chances of him giving a shit are pretty low I'd say. I'd be surprised if we see him in the blue and white stripes again.

I'm pretty sure he'll play later today - Unless he's crocked of course.

If he goes, it'll be after some hard negotiations from Mr Bloom & Co I reckon, so later in the month would be my guess. Personally, I think Liam will see the season out and go in the summer if we fail to reach the promised land.

But then again, like the rest of you, I aint got a clue.

I am concerned about this Ince can replace Bridcutt talk, which he obviously has proved to us he has the potential to do so. Ince is being noticed now by other clubs and fans and what worries me is that Ince, next month, is in the last 6 months of his contract. This being the case he can then start talking to other clubs about signing for them in June on I believe a free. We could also end up losing Ince for nothing.

Wouldn't we be due some compo due to his age?

Gus only wants Ulloa, all this B&B is smoke and mirrors, feeding a journo with secret info, why would he? to divert attention away from his target, which he wants to keep under the RADAR and not have to enter a bidding war to secure

I think the albion would publicise it if that were the case, with the very intention of starting a bidding war. Gus would have no chance of keeping it quiet.

This seems a very factual statement. Do you have inside info?!

We didn't lose Murray because he signed for another team during the season, it all happened after the season ended. But don't let facts get in the way of good rant.

Of course it didn't happen until the end of the season, That was when he was a free agent. But the fact that he and his agent were allowed to talk to any other club during his last six months of his contract, allowed him greater bargaining power. For example if he knew Palace were prepared to pay 2k per week more than we were offering and with a large signing on fee, do you not think that this put the Albion in a weaker bargaining position?
In other words if the club does not allow players contracts to enter the last six months,(if they want to keep them) this scenario would not happen.
The knock on effect of waiting is, we could end up paying more in wages (because of competition for his signature) than we needed to have done, if the contract had been renewed prior the six month end.

I am not sure about that, as I believe you get paid compensation if the player came through your youth system, but I could be wrong.

I think you are right. I don't believe you get any compo unless they have been part of your youth set up for a number of years, as we got Ince following his release from Chelsea I don't think we will get anything should be leave.

The argus states that the albion view Gus' bids for Bridcutt and Buckley as 'derisory'.
