What has been the greatest moment of your life?

I know.. i tried very hard to ignore the majority, but some got to me a bit.

It wasn't anything to do with the people on open threads on NSC as whilst i didn't always agree with their views, I'm intelligent enough to understand the difference between abuse, opinion and banter.

It was more about the 40+ emails/PM's I received that tore into me and called me every name under the sun just because I was associated with his coming to our club. It wasn't as if I contacted Bury and bought him myself!!!!

One of the worst occasions was an away game just before he left when I actually got spat at and called a f*ing fat w*nker. The spit didn't actually hit me thankfully, but nonetheless it was quite upsetting.

Every club has it's morons, and ours is no different sadly.

I would dearly love to spend 5 minutes alone with whoever did that to you. I remember reading about some of the abuse you took about that and still makes me angry now.

Almahaza winning at 50/1 was a pretty special moment....trainer in tears (he hadn't trained a winner in 11 years), jockey in disbelief, my old man (who owned Ali) had tears in his eyes as did the bookies when I did my rounds.

We floated home from Southwell.

That's very kind. Thanks!

Like I say though, I reflect now on the positive stuff and it was a great experience at the time of winning and many good things DID come of it.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I tend to feel i am a man without achievements, so i have no blister-inducing money-raising tales yet to tell or talk of, with the utmost respect, giving elements of myself up for eons to bravely help cure the forlorn. I would like to stare backwards into my past and pick out a ten-minute spell in which i shrunk my mouth to size to resuscitate the squirrel that fell foul of its throat-swelling allergy to ne'er before munched on macadamia nuts, bringing it alive again to join my underground rodent-fighting club, my eye for a champion seeing this well-groomed pest as one to remember. I wish in the layers of my memory i would be able to glance over an ounce of time that had me as a semi-drunk lollipop man without a license who'd wander into roads to stop traffic, sometimes on motorways, bringing speeding vehicles to a halt with my magical pole and allowing anybody to cross at the pace in which they want to and even hedgehogs when i find their natural avenues for places that once lay untarmaced by man. Of course i see neither. I suppose i could say i am most satisfied that i have made it thus far, flinging my body over a hurdle or two as i went, but that doesn't feel like a moment or a sense of vast accomplishment. Maybe i'll reward my powers of persuasion for convincing women of innocence to want to cling to me for longer than an hour as miracles i've performed and oh so special moments that've stood out worthily. I reckon i'll run at least a half marathon next year, and remove at least one of the jowls that'd taken up permanently cheesy residence on somewhere where once was a lone chin, so i'll have that as an achievement, without it yet happening. A promise i have to live up to.

Not my all time greatest moment but Virgo's last minute goal against Swindon felt like the best orgasm I'd ever had.

Most of my top memories revolve around big boat sail racing. One of the best would be, when an Olympic sailing Gold medalist that I admired, told one of my boat owners, that I was probably the best in the country at what I did on the boat.

The first year my annual pay reached 6 figures was a proud moment.

I remember one particular occasion reminiscing about my greatest moments. Including scoring the winning goal in a particularly important game for the Albion. I won't name which one. My first international game plus the realisation that turning down the possibility fo playing cricket for Sussex and my country to pursue football for the albion had borne fruit. That was an amazing feeling and possibly the best of the lot I'd have to say. I also recalled the day Liverpool came calling and I had to turn them down because of my loyalty to the albion and the following week we knocked them out of teh FA cup and marched on to the final. It was a great evening of memories and to be truly frank, when the E wore off I felt totally ashamed.

Losing the by-election when I stood as the Seagulls Party candidate in the Ringmer and Ouse Valley ward. God knows what horrors might have awaited me, if I'd won and ended up as a councillor on Lewes District Council.

Mine would have to be all golf based, I was a Professional for nearly 3 years (when I left school) and have many incredible memory's because of golf.

The mention of golf has just reminded me of what would probably be my greatest moment. Playing in a golf day with Lee Westwood at Wentworth, four of us (including Lee) were up first on the 1st tee on the West course. He went first, spanked it right down the middle of the fairway, I managed to find the fairway, which was a relief, as there was the rest of our party, people on the practice putting green, and several waiting cars looking on. Mate of mine shanked it straight into the bushes though. Lee was a top fella, and I've had a soft spot for him ever since.

Either that day, or going around the Bugatti HQ and spending a couple of hours in a Veyron would be my highlights.

Starting my own Plumbing business in 2002 after years of earning other people money, I find the paperwork and arranging jobs a bit stressful at times but I would not want to go back to working for a company.
