I agree. And for what's it's worth, when we eventually sell Ince, I've no doubt that we will get more for him than we do for Bridcutt. I mean no disrespect to Bridcutt but I think that Ince has more of the all round attributes that are required at Premiership level.

Only problem is Ince has a contract that runs out at the end of the season. We might get nothing for him. It's not unusual for that to happen at the Albion.

How usual is it? With the expection of Murray, who Poyet chose to let go, who else has it happened with recently?

Also as he is under 24, we will get money regardless.

Personally i don't c the chance of Ince getting an extended deal in the next few weeks (nothings been mentioned?) meaning Bridcutt will go in January....its a squad game and now people can see we have strength in depth...especially when our injured strikers return. Still personally i wouldn't like to guess what Oscars thinking.
Of course nothings been mentioned. Why would the club mention it. I'd be amazed if we weren't working flat out to tie Kuszczak down for another yesr or two, but the club haven't mentioned that either.

Davies went on a free didn't he? How much did Bolton pay for him?
Cox also went on a free. I'm sure he's worth a fare amount right now.
Vicente wasn't renewed a contract, not that I care but he's another one.
Cook is being touted around for the Prem, we didn't hold onto him either.

Errr, can't recall Davies, but Cox was released, Vicente was released and Cook was sold (wrongly in my opinion). Very very very very very different to what you are stating about Ince. I'm sure he will not be released like the others, so you need not worry.

I'm not worried at all. I'm just stating that it's not unusual for the Albion to lose players due to contract expiry. You can't really argue with that. I didn't even mention Murray!
Until he get's his contract extension, there's no point talking about the money we'll get for him.

(Russell Martin was released as a youth, but that's just being pedantic)

i personally think that bridcutt and ince are very 2 different players in the same position. Ince has all the attributes that we have seen so far this season to be a very good player at the top level. but lets not forget that bridcutt is our player of the season 2 years running so its brave to compare them. i think bridcutt still has a bit more creativity which can provide impetus to attacking situations. but ince has the strength and on the ball ability to be a very good player. sign him up and let him show his adaptability but we need to keep bridcutt unless poyet wants to pay £4 mill plus

All about points scoring on this forum isn't it. "I liked Ince before he was popular!". "Look at me I started a thread on him a while back!".
I gave that thread a quick scan and I didn't see "quite a bit of stick". I saw a few people saying they needed more convincing (fair enough) and one or two idiots writing him off. I might just go and make a thread for every Brighton player, and bump it every time they have a good game.

Hey... I'm just pleased to see that more and more folks are waking up to Ince's ability. Is that such a bad thing? Scoring points is really not my cup of tea as anyone who knows me will testify. Indeed, I'm more often than not critical of individual performances. But feel free to start some threads about other Brighton players if you want.

You seem to be confusing releasing players at the end of their contract because we no longer want them with losing players due to contract expiry.

That was by far and way Ince's best performance away from home this season. Up until yesterday he had not performed as well on his travels as he had at home. It was great to see him bring his home form to the game yesterday. What's exciting about him, is that he clearly still has a long way to go. Ince has the most amount of potential I have seen in one of our development players for a long time. I'd like to think the Vieira comparison will prove to be accurate.

Absolutely bizarre examples, none of which are remotely the same

Vicente was deliberately not renewed.
Cox was deliberately not renewed.
Davies actually had a year left, and we agreed to release him early to get rid.
Cook was sold.

Ince & Bridcutt in the middle with a choice of Andrews/Crofts/Orlandi/Forster-Caskey to play as the third midfielder, Buckley & LuaLua skinning people down the wings...

That midfield five would have me drooling, drooling a lot, especially with Ulloa up top.

Why not play one of Bridcutt and Ince and then play TWO of Andrews/Crofts/Orlandi/Forster-Caskey though?

I would think Crofts is the logical choice to play alongside Bridcutt once he's fit. Ince will still get games and in harder away games, we may well play all three. Will be interesting to see where he plays Orlandi, who will almost certainly start when fully fit.

Interesting choices for OG when all are fit.
