And to the Commander and his ilk, for whom this appears to be the most important matter on the agenda, I can say but one thing. If you can do better, move seats...come and join us in the North Stand and show us how it should be done. Yeah...I suppose I'm saying...put up or shut up!!

He's in the middle like you, saying pretty much what you're saying. I feel he's being somewhat misrepresented in all this, there is no taking sides in the matter, just wanting to get the stand in unison.

Thank you. I don't know how many more times I have to repeat myself to make my point, it really shouldn't be that difficult to grasp, it's very simple: We all want an atmosphere. For this to happen the stand needs to unite and sing as one. There is no need for people to 'think they can do better'. Better than who? We're all on the same side, there should be no competing against anyone except the away fans.

*Awaits the next person to come along with "stop slagging off people trying to create an atmosphere, why don't you start some songs yourself?".*

no one is really that bothered these days in the WSU. You just end up with funny stairs and there is only so long you can stand up...
What have they done to the stairs...? (Barber Out)

That, in a nutshell, is it. There is NO 'we're better than you' divide. That's all in your head.

The problem we've got in the NS is that you can't hear the fans on the left-hand side of the stand from the right. And vice versa. The sound travels easily towards the pitch, but not so well across the stand. So when the left appears quiet, the right starts up a song, but that then doesn't get picked up by the left etc etc. We need a big group of singers in the middle to connect the sides together. But with an all-seater stadium, that'll probably never happen.

Or maybe those in the middle sing a bit more ? A fair few of us do - but the majority dont.

Personally I believe The Judge made a mistake moving over to the corner.
Last season when he was just infront of me, in a central block near the back, the atmosphere was a lot better, there's was already a large group of singers and we didn't have so much of a split with different songs going on.
In an ideal world all the singers being Central would make for a much better atmosphere which would filter out to the sides too.

Sounds like a conductor as required, as per Borussia Dortmund.

For the Burnley and Millwall games I was sat in N1H and the North Stand seemed to have lost its mojo as the singers are not in a central group but what really stood out was the lack of noise from the East and West 95% of the time.

Unpopular suggestion, but it sounds like the north needs something to orchestrate the sound... a conductor of sorts, be it a drum or a bloke with a very loud voice in the middle (I would draw the line at a megaphone)

The Judge has a very loud voice

I agree with this. Nearly every team in Europe have someone at the front of the stand conducting the singing and they all make more noise than we do in England.

I sit in the north west corner after a move from west stand lower last year. I wanted a little bit of atmosphere. Yes some people don't sing, yes some people try and start there own songs rather than just listening to the judge. At the end of the day if you want to watch the football and stay quiet or sing who cares! You pay for your seat do what you want.my first game I was in north west corner I was disgusted by not only having my arse pinched as I walked though to the ladies toilets MORE than once but if people didn't sing other fans started taking the piss. Who the hell do you think you are! I personally have taken the time to learn some of e songs to take part but I don't disrespect others who choose not to. I have noticed that some seats are not all season tickets as different people each week. Could this be why it could be quiet as some fans are not used to that area? Agree with me or not to be honest I don't care everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just be warned you ever touch me or sign chants as I don't feel like singing the same song for over ten minutes I will have some chants of my own and believe me it won't be pretty. We should support our team and not turn on our own!
