Who would buy them though, apart from the insane and those who simply want to stick a certificate on their wall?

I suspect those people who feel that Dick Knight got shafted by Tony Bloom wanting to take control after sticking up £100m of his own money or that the club - despite playing in a state of the art stadium, highest finish for 30 years, million pound signings etc - would somehow be better off with Knight still in charge.

The vast majority want a framed share certificate to display on the wall to show they are an uber-fan of BHAFC

I would congratulate Dick if he was giving a % to charity, AITC etc.

If sells all of them, a number of fans own a grand total of 1.54% of the club. That will really make a difference won't it!

It just smacks of trying to sell a book and get a bit of cash for his worthless shares

Why do it in this way otherwise. Would be easy enough to do without attaching a form in his book!

Each share has a notional £1 value. For some , owning a share in their football club is priceless.

To be fair to Dick he has put a lot of money into the Albion over the years and therefore if he wants some of that back you can't blame him, and I don't. I just don't think he should be somehow congratulated for selling off his shares in this way and hyping a book sale to boot.

Directors are Norman Cook (who he?) and Angus Gregory. I suspect that Pig City is therefore Norman's Investment vehicle for (at least) Albion shares.

If you give something that is worthless to a charity, the charity now owns something that is worthless.

Would be better if DK gifted the proceeds of any share sale to AITC.. That way it would benefit financially.

That really is the bottom line when deciding whether or not to buy - the motives, whether they be good or bad, of the seller is irrelevant.

On a personal basis I believe that fan ownership, be it large or small, is good for the club.

If the club were issuing new shares, at least the money would be going to the club.

The club will receive no benefit from the sale of Dick's shares - the only financial benefit that will accrue will be to Dick. And at a vastly inflated figure compared to their true investment value.

In short the club learned this morning of his intention to sell the shares. They haven't heard from him, only heard when we did. He needs to give the club 28 days notice of his intention to sell the shares.

2. Can I buy some without buying the book? - can we get hold of the form?

Would have thought the 'Expression of Interest'form would need to be made available somewhere else besides being inside the book. Especially as DK has got a million shares and might possibly not sell huge numbers of the book. Or if the form is only available in the book maybe some public-spirited person could scan it in and make it into a downloadable pdf?

Also I notice from the Amazon ad at the top of the page that the cover of the book has changed. Did the club refuse permission for the one of him at the Amex to be used? If so that is very petty!

That picture belongs to DK. It was paid for by the fans who went to the presentation and dinner at Donatellos. Dick himself asked for it to be hung in Dick's bar so it's nothing to do with the club.

You have the wrong end of the stick. The new cover is of the image you are referring to. The original cover showed an image of Knight stood on the pitch at the Amex.
