How much extra are you willing to pay for your season ticket?

I can't remember actually spending any money at the Amex apart from my ST.

Still with the queues at the kiosks, they are doing ok without it!

I always assumed that we would end up paying more than withdean obviously, however, the club do have to be careful here as if we don't end up getting anywhere near the playoffs and end up half way up, using the FFP argument to thin the squad and clear out the big earners, then there will be no justification for an increase.

A few people have said that there is only so long you can squeeze a sponge until it runs dry.

Funny when we were at Withdean the excuse for the high prices there was the need to run the club with small crowds and how prices would drop at Falmer. Now we are at Falmer with the highest gates in the League and we are still paying the highest prices, ever felt like you're being taken for a mug ?

But that is only true as we have been relatively sucessful. Look at the last home game...there was acres of blue seats...maybe 21k actually in the ground. Yes ok 26k may have paid for a seat, but the missing 5k didn't buy a programme pie beer etc.

Let's hope the result against Donny results in extra people through the gate to buy the stuff on offer. It would be shame if the momentum from that result wasn't capitalised on. Let's hope it's a decent day weather wise

Let's say for example you like McDonalds Big Macs - you're fairly well off so price doesn't really affect you - McDonalds decide to sell a Big Mac at £100. £100 to you is a nights drinking money but would you still pay £100 for the Big Mac - I'd suggest not. An extreme example I know but that's what I meant by that group.

Interesting thread, obviously everyone's personal circumstances differ vastly, it would be interesting to see this self same thread if we were seriously pushing for a promotion place or even if we got promotion, if we did get promotion I wonder how many people would force themselves to afford a ST?

Personally it is a luxury for me / us now, I went to the Notts Forest game and the fuel alone cost me not much short of £80 (chuck the bridge toll in and it was £80) then there is the (cheap as possible) hotel and food and drink, in round figures I get no change from about £250 for the 2 of us to attend a game.

I appreciate some may say cut out the hotel and drinks etc etc, but to just drive down, watch the game and drive back does simply not appeal to us, also we do try to meet up with friends on the occasions we do get to games.

I'm sure many supporters who live a good distance away have the same costs, so for some it's not just the ticket cost, and I fully appreciate other costs have nothing to do with the club

I wonder how different the poll would look if we were 4th or 5th and scoring goals for fun and playing attacking entertaining football. Yes we all know injuries and bad luck are a main reason for this. But the fact remains and history shows us, that people will always find the money, if they are getting what they want. If they are not getting the entertainment they crave, they will always find an excuse to say the money is better spent elsewhere and to be honest that is anyone's prerogative. Fan's are the life blood of football, this is a fact that s all to often overlooked these days.

Close to 57% say nothing. Whilst we all know this won't be the case, it is a worrying percentage. If this is a fair reflection of our financial situation as customers of Brighton and Hove Albion football club, season ticket sales could drop from around 23,000 to 11,000 if the club increase prices. We all know it won't be that low but anything under 15,000 and I would think there could be trouble ahead....Hope someone is taking note of public feeling.

Personally I don't think we should be paying any more than £20 for championship football.
I like this £20 away scheme some teams are doing in the prem. definitely the way forward. With that in mind, we're paying too much.
Plus I'm anti the transport surcharge, extremely unfair for people who don't need or use it.
Put prices up and I'll give up my season ticket and just buy tickets to selective games, would probably do more away games then home one

Why would anyone say they really wanted to do something, but refuse to pay a price they can afford?
Esp when that price is within the realm of all other comparable prices.

I would most definitely argue their commitment to wanting to go.


I'm still struggling to believe Arsenal's cheapest S/T price is £985.
When compared with Man City's £299, I think it would be fair to say 'I'm not paying that as I don't believe I'm getting £600 a year's better VFM'.
But 'I'm not paying £100 a year more than Charlton fans (I have no idea of the price difference) even though I can afford it' seems very hollow to me.

£35.00 to £50.00 per train ticket depending on when the advance tickets go on sale and also dearer over Xmas period, and if I do get an advance ticket and Sky get to move the game I can only get a partial refund !!
£60.00 in Diesel if I drive down.
Loss of earnings on a saturday and also grief from the missus as I leave Tiverton on the 6,50am train and dont get back until 11.00pm as if I got a later train from Tiverton even morre expensive !

I pay by Direct Debit but plan to pay in one chunk next season, so in theory any increase might not impact me too much, depending on the price of the outright purchase compared to the DD.
