Very encouraging performance. We looked positive, dangerous and inventive. Definitely the better side - most days we'll win comfortably if we play like that.

Thought Andrews, Crofts and Barnes were especially good.

Away from home, strange referee display. ( no complaints about either sending off just thought he was weak at times ).

Reading goal keeper man of the match sums it up. We had better chances to win but still a point is fair.

The real winners were forster caskey and Barnes. Barnes is now guaranteed a strikers position. And forster caskey didn't disappoint.

Good to see Oscar living up to his attacking philosophy. It would have been easy to bring Lua Lua off and bring on a midfielder to hang on to what we got but instead he went for the attacking option (even if Buckley didn't do much). And right at the death we had the chance to run the ball into the corner to kill time but we didn't. we kept trying to be positive.

Early days still, the basis from last year is there with a few subtle changes, positive changes. I reckon we will get better and better as the season goes on.

Ok 3 points would have been very nice especially with the chances we created. Considering the injuries we had going into this game we did well, yet beforehand a point might have been acceptable. Losing Ulloa is a setback but Barnes looks hungry.

Reading were poor, no wonder their fans were so muted.

Oscar looked very pensive at the end, maybe thinking about loan strikers he fancies.

My first chance to see the team this year.
Taking everything into consideration, the injuries, settling in to Oscars style, and the sending off, that was very impressive, loved the way we passed the ball around, solid in defence, well organised, pushing forward much quicker than under Poyet, midfield shooting on site at times, solid goalkeeping.
Plenty of chances to win the game, shame, we deserved to win it, by far the better side.
I am confident that Ashley will step up in Lens (ridiculous) absence.
All very promising when we get a full strength squad.

Pleased to get the draw. LuaLua was quality, so were Barnes, Ward and Forster-Caskey. Only negative for me was Spanish Dave, just didn't seem to have anything about him. A shame.

Also, that place is a tomb. Poor home support. Literally tried drumming up support and failed.

I have not read the stuff before coz I'm cooking the Sunday Roast but in my humble opinion we should have won the game.Our best performance this season? The Ref fecked up both teams but to be honest I have seen worst decisions

Whilst I can see why the ref gave two reds, neither were necessary. Pog got a slight nudge for his second and Leo followed the ball, his play was neither violent nor serious, but a bit dumb. We know the ref is a professional attention seeking bed wetter from last season, and should have played accordingly.

Dire first half, encouraging after the break. Defence a bit wooden at times, not sure how they will cope with Johnson, Austin, Zamora and (possibly if ' Arry gets his way) Adebayor on Wednesday.
