i spent over 10 years at a place.........gates and fences locked us in....punished if we escaped......set excercise times.......fights and a male pecking order......sexual frustration..............everyone hated the wardens.......no visitors allowed........drugs smuggled in.......

Been to Wandsworth, Brixton and Ford as a visitor.

Wandsworth was pretty awful. Ford was like being in a community centre - you could even nip out to the local Tesco or get Chinese takeaway if no-one was looking.

Been in Lewes and Winchester, plus a few police cell blocks..... for building work purposes only.

Strange thing is I always felt uncomfortable on those visits even though no reason to be.

Woke up in a police cell couple years ago in London.

Thankfully got released with no Charges!

been to highdown, portland YOI, Feltham YOI and Rochester YOI. Highdown was by far the "easiest" as it has all ages where as the YOI's are for 18's-21's and is abit rowdy....

But not as bad as some people think, i guess. still a horrible place.

Spent a good couple of years in the eighties, every Thursday evening, football training in Lewes prison gym for the team I used to play for on Saturdays.
Also played and won at least once, the annual five (seven?) a side tournament held there. That was fun. Some ex pros played against us on the prison side.
