I didn't take the moral high ground, you presented it to us, indeed to the rest of Football.

CPFC2010, FUNDING ADDICTION SINCE 2013 :nono:

Aren't you funded by Tony Blooms gambling?

And aren't you promoting debt, more of a social problem than even gambling, through being sponsored by Amex?

Still, you've apparently got your own definition of hypocrisy Hillian so I guess it's all good :)

There is the point, your not being sponsored by 12Bet, they are taking over the name of the stadium.

Sorry, but who are 12Bet? If it was Ladbrokes or Williamhill it might be a bit different but its an Asian company, hardly anyone has heard of, which dodges tax and scams its customers.

Actually, thinking about it, you two would make a perfect partnership.

Maybe that's the Tag line.

CPFC and 12bet "Tax dodging partners"

e: Actually "Partners in tax dodging" sounds better.

Sponsorship is part and parcel of football.

Although the day we ever have either A Pay Day Loan Company or A Gambling Company on our shirts or as the Stadium Sponsors will be a sad day indeed.

Yes but we are sponsored by a credit card company!

You seem ITK. Where did you hear that from? I can only repeat what I've heard (can't say if my source is better than yours) that's it's a one year sponsorship. Their deal with Wigan has just finished and they want a Premiership team (which I doubt we will be the following year).

As for who they are, they're a large Asian betting firm who've been sponsoring Wigan the last few years. I'm not personally convinced that it matters if its a British or Asian bookies.

I've also heard it's not been agreed, so I suppose I'll wait to hear for certain before passing judgement.

That will be forgotten in a few weeks, but the lovely new name your stadium will have will be there for at least the season

I can live with that .

I can live with that .

I'm sure you can, but think of all the families wrecked by the addiction that is gambling, think of all the starry eyed kids rocking up at Selh...., oh sorry I forgot, The 2 bit arena seeing all the ads for the betting firm and deciding right there and then that gambling is their new hobby.

Shame on you.

This is a bizarre line of reasoning when you're sponsored by a credit card company?

This may be the stupidest thing I have ever read on the internet. Well done you.

This

Hillian...give up. We do not have the moral high ground here

I have learnt over the years that for some supporters, on both sides, they always have the moral high ground. Something they will condemn in another club is fine when done by their own, other clubs disgusting lack of morals are their own clubs taking an advantage of an opportunity.

Hillian is one of those. Anything Palace do is wrong because Palace have done it, but if ever Brighton do the same he'd find a way to justify it. We've got them too, so I'm certainly not taking the moral high ground over it! :)

There are credit card companies and then there is American Express. Would regular customers of Harrods and Fortnum & Mason ever do their shopping in Lidl ?

The fact that you took it seriously speaks volumes about your intelligence.

Whether I took it seriously or not (I didn't think it was a 100% serious offering), it is still up there with the worst posts I have ever read. Your post adds no value to the discussion and your immediate reaction to being called out is to say 'I didn't mean it' and go on the attack. You know nought of my intelligence and I won't get into a willy waving exercise with you over it. Look at yourself first and ask why a fellow Brighton fan has also called out your brilliant offering to the discussion. Chump.

And yet I'm not the one trying to justify anything on another teams forum.

p.s. Have you looked at BBS? It may surprise you to see where some of the harshest criticisms are coming from.
