Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Stepping on an upturned three pin plug while barefoot.

I did that only the other night. It was the plug of the fan that I had been scrabbling for, so that was something.

My boarding school had shower blocks and intermittently, someone would scatter drawing pins in. Not amusing when a number of us would step on them, especially tricky when vision was compromised with shampoo.

Bet that wasn't the only painful occurrence to happen in the shower blocks....

Tweezering a single nasal hair

I somehow managed to acquire a microscopic spot recently just inside one nostril. Its mere existence was making my eyes water and I was desperate to pop it. But even doing that was excruciatingly painful.

I guess it was the result of several weeks of chronic hay fever & constant nose-blowing. Curses on summer.

Getting fingers shut in a door. Happened to me a couple of times & didn't know whether to throw-up or pass-out first.

Oh, and a tooth abcess has got to be the world's worst. Real climb the walls pain.

When you get something sharp going underneath your fingernail- I've reached into a bag before and unwittingly managed to prod something sharp & pointy up underneath one of my nails. That hurts for AGES, and the pain is completely disproportionate to the size of the injury.

I suppose the same principle applies to all these "gentlemen's injuries" you lot are describing. A huge amount of pain for something so tiny :D

On the golf course, when some bellend on the next hole snap-hooks his drive and pings you on the elbow from 50 yards away as you walk up towards the green. I realise it's not common but I can confirm it smarts somewhat.

In the winter - I get a little nick in the skin on my thumb, just above the top corner of my thumbnail. Pound for pound that has to be the most painful thing to get -when you keep knocking it.

This. I get that too on the ends of all my fingers, putting hands in pockets or knocking them is extremely painful. I really should start using some of the missus' moisturiser to try and stop them drying out.

And I've had several gout attacks recently. They ****ing hurt.

Hmm. lets see which is worse. Urine or kidney infection, or broken humorous and torn rotator cuff. First one you are unable to think, second one you are unable to move.

Tonsillitus.

Too painful to eat or drink and impossible to sleep at night. It goes on for days and each one feels like a week in itself. :(

When you are about 10yrs old and overhear your mum telling a neighbour about your guitar you don't yet know anything about. Only later to discover she said catarrh and was talking about your blocked up nose. I could have been Eric Clapton but for fate :guitar:
