"We’re also looking at ways we can extend food and drink concessions to areas outside"

I love you Mr Barber!
Don't think we'll get CHIPS outside the stadium until the Greens get kicked out in 2015 and the new council allows mobile catering.

Thanks Greens :(
I was going to start a thread along the lines of 'Are NSC members gatekeepers of all things BHA?', meaning members dissect every minute detail of what goes on at the club, but now I don't need to. It is a great statement from Mr. Barber, but is mainly a reaction to what gets said on here, meaning we have made an impression. I can remember what happened when the powers that be had carte blanche to do what they liked at the club, when there was little by means of mobilising support to stop it happening, in that The Goldstone got sold and we nearly folded. Sorry if we sound like a moany bunch Paul, but we have a vested interest in expressing our views. I know we live in the modern football age, but history must inform the embracing, or otherwise, of what is deemed to be best for us...

I have criticised Barber in the past on here, mainly for the Poyet fiasco, and before that the axing of Gully's Girls, BUT I do believe he is generally taking us forward as a club. The cost cutting exercise was badly needed and still is. There is a difficult balance between cutting costs and raising revenue from fans, if he gets that right in the long term then the club will be in a very good place for a long time to come.

Good stuff that, thanks again Richie. I don't blame Barber for starting to show his frustration at some of the ignorant and idiotic statements on here and elsewhere. There really is no pleasing some people. However, I'm certain the less vocal majority understand and appreciate what the club is doing, and that the difficult decisions have to be made if we're to survive and prosper.

I am privvy to a bit that goes on behind the scenes. If some posters could see how much work is being done behind the scenes, and how far this club have moved forward since the first game at the Amex, then they would be smiling.
Remember, a 5 year plan, hopefully successful one year early eh.

Where's the Chelsea bloke? Is it the guy in the DS?

North Stand Chat is the vox pop for everything that goes on at the club. The media are well known to scour the forum in search of an "exclusive" which is actually a "NSC exclusive".

Great response to the ridiculous 'Barber out' brigade. Makes me think we're pretty fortunate to have a guy in charge with a clear sense of direction who's trying to put the club on to a sound footing.

Like the rumour I put on here about Carles Planas a few weeks back, which had them on the phone to Spain as soon as....

An adult ticket in 96/97 was £8. So it would now be more like £15 - £20 (for a TERRACE ticket) now, if the price had gone up in line with inflation. Which actually isnt that far off the mark. Dont know where "under £10" came from.

I have to say, I'm getting increasingly exasperated by the impression a professional, open businessman like Barber must be getting of Brighton fans. A TINY TINY vocal minority moaning about every single decision the club makes, making ridiculous suggestions like boycotting our own food and drink outlets and protesting against Barber.

It is exceptionally rare to have someone so approachable and willing to listen and meet the fans as Barber and frankly, given the FFP, we are very lucky to have him. Not every decision will be popular and not every decision will be right but the least fans can do is to give at least a few minutes thought as to the reasons a decision may have been taken before they start pouring their bile into NSC.

I honestly think Brighton must have the most ungrateful fans of any in the country,

Nailed it again Richie. He should be asked if he has read Build a Bonfire, to understand our distrust of suits.

U16 was £4... He could have based it on that. Or used a dodgy calculation!

Overall good stuff though, and the more I hear from PB the better.

Did he really say 'and we won’t be offering discounts during the crazy half time period when queues are at their peak and demand is at its highest often meaning people can’t actually buy anything!'

I'm guessing so, yes. You may be misinterpreting him though, if I'm interpreting your post correctly.
He's saying that people often don't get a chance to buy anything because of how busy it is, not that he's planning to stop people buying things.
