Looking back over the years, it seems to me that the "character" of Charlie Oatway was an invention of the Club, used to promote a particular image of a squad and management that sticks together, whatever the circumstances. Now that the Albion is run by executive officers, business planners and human resources professionals, there are obviously going to be some tensions. But these need to be resolved sensitively and without victimisation.

The club has evolved , it would now be aghast if a pre season friendly was abandoned due to players and the coaching team becoming involved in a fracas to show their camaraderie.

Thanks, so currently we wouldn’t actually know if an internal appeal has been lodged or not?

I guess we will all have to wait for an e-mail from the CEO announcing the result of the appeal

Well given it has happened in the last couple of years. Maybe they're not quite so choosy.

And to be fair to Charlie, the longford incident, wasn't his fault. It was actually Steve Melton who made the foul and who should have been sent off. I was there and it was a unique experience.....at least it was until repeated!

OFFICAL DISCLAIMER
I did not hear this from my Aunties friend who keeps 22 cats.
This is not a conspiracy theory.
Had no inside information whatsoever.
This idea came to me in a vodka induced dream last night.

Now that "Luke" has left the Development Squad with immediate effect.......Charlie Oatway back in as coach at the Academy....leaving 0G to bring in his own assistant and assisstant's assisstant....

Turns over and goes back to sleep...

CO seems to be a nice bloke, 100% committed to BHA and AITC and presumably is a good coach.

However I do find his particular brand of 'banter/insults' with the players (from evidence on various club videos/Soccer AM/the League One open top bus parade etc) a bit cringeworthy. It may have worked in The Withdean Years, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's felt to be a bit outdated in the new corporate/international era of BHA.

Have heard allegedly that at the peak of his 'banter' he used to allegedly creep up behind players in the changing room and allegedly dangle his rather significant manhood over their shoulders. Hilarious!

He didn't strike me as a public school boy.
