Surely its a conflict of interest????

So what happens when the two teams play against each other? A few on here have mentioned they support Man United, (if they were alive) who did they support in the 83 cup final? what happens if the Albion go up? I cant see the logic in support two teams who have a chance of playing each other.

Fine support a non league team like Lewes etc when the chances are they will never play your team in a match of any importance, but the rest is just riduculous IMO....

I'd imagine it'd be West Ham and/or Worthing for me. Know my dad went to Upton Park at a young age during late 60s/early 70s as have seen all his old programmes he kept, so had he not become an Albion fan he may have brought me up a Hammer not a Seagull! As I've lived in Worthing all my life and they've been my second team for about 6 years now chances are I would have made my way to Woodside Road at some point even if Albion weren't around.

If the Albion didn't exist I'd revert to my local team Bognor Regis Town (Come on you Rocks! )
I will always 'follow' the nearest team to where I was born - Stoke City

and to the OP No conflict at all for me - I want Brighton to win the most as I 'support' them and commit to watch them live but if we play Stoke and they win I resign myself to the fact we can't defend set pieces and move on to the next game. How did all the Arse 'fans' on here feel when we lost 3-2 in the Cup probably a win/win outcome ?

At the point that I thought we would cease to exist, I planned to turn my back on football. But now - I would find an amateur team somewhat local to where I live (maybe Buckingham Town)

Fully expect I would have been taken to palace as a youngster, most of my family 'support' them.

Do you not support England, (or whoever is your national team), when they are playing?

You obviously didn't understand my last post! Brighton will NEVER play England, there is nothing wrong with supporting your club and your country. However supporting two teams either in the same league or the league below each other is a completely ridiculous idea! How can you support teams that will compete against each other or have a chance of playing each other?

But once you accept the premise that it is possible to support two teams in the same sport then whether or not they might possibly play each other under certain circumstances becomes irrelevant. 'Problems' would only arise if or when they did play each other, at which point a decision would be made as to where your major allegiance lay.

Which is what I meant! Supporting two clubs is wrong!
