I think Palace ironically benefited from FFS getting injured in the first leg. He has been off form for a couple of months, and it allowed Holloway to play Zaha more centrally, where he took his chances very well, and we didn't take ours.

I didn't think we were THAT bad on Monday, it was tight until the first goal, Palace had only had the one chance from Williams in the first hour. At the same time we were not dominating, and the team that was put out was timid for a home leg (no Kaz, who deserved a place as Buckley has not been firing on all cylinders recently, god knows where Vicente had disappeared to, and Barnes on the bench).

It still sickens me to think of Monday night, but that is how a derby result should feel. The only consolation is that it would have been ten times worse had the result been at Wembley.

I have to say that Zaha took both goals extremely well, but the rest of the game, he didn't look very special to me and we did see a little of his nasty temperament now and again, he is almost Barnes like in that respect.

Thanks for all that, but I was more interested on why Zaha was sold when he was and what had he or the club gained.
London Eagle claimed, "Because he is at a stage in his career where he is destined to do greater things" is he really achieving greater things being a bench warmer at Man U, rather than playing week in week out in the PL for Palace. And he also never answered, if you are in the PL and without Zaha and Murray where the goals will come from?

If we do not get promotion, and there was no guarantee in January when the deal was made that we would what would he benefit from playing in the championship for yet another season? He will more then likely go on load to a mid PL team the same way Welbeck did too gain experience

If and IF we make the PL then thats a whole different ball game, you'd expect your club and manager too look to bring players in who are capable of playing at that level, but thats an issue you deal with once you get their, no point worrying about it if we are playing you weed again next season is there.

Depending on how much Moyes likes him, he could feature next season regularly. My snouts at OT tell me that United are planning on getting rid of at least two of Nani, Valencia and Young, so he could have a chance.............depending on how good he is at controlling his temper. He certainly has ability, but it is a huge step up at the top of the PL.

Palace had to make a gamble on selling Winnie in January for more than what he was really worth and also go for promotion. Putting off the decision until the end of the season meant they were still playing Deal or No Deal and could have ended up with offers only coming in from clubs like Stoke and Fulham. Palace will be one of the few clubs in The Championship next season to post a profit with the transfer monies received last summer for exiting players wiping out the deficit plus the cash for Winnie on top.

There will be his salary to deduct as well while he was loaned back to Palace which could add up to £500k to £600k

Young is injured at the moment anyway, i thought nani was aswell quite decent but i only watch them now and then when they are on TV! I hope if he does go there this season then he gets an opportunity, but i do not think he is ready yet! Although when we played them and beat them last season he did extremely well, i know it was not their strongest team out, but still premiership standard! Who knows what the future holds for him, if we get promoted he may be able to come back on loan for another season!

It was all about the first goal, if and buts you got it and deserved it in the end. I for one am not as gutted as I thought I would be, this might change if you beat Watford.

Without them we would have been 2-0 up with only 20 minutes to play and cruising to Wembley. We could have shut up shop and hit them on the break. I refuse to accept we were inferior apart from the scoreline.
