Trouble at the FA Cup Semi...

Trouble in our end in '83? Yes, it happened, it has no relevance, African or Indian, in today's football.

Any chance you could debate something of relevance to today's game?

OK shall we debate the disgraceful stabbing of a Southend fan by Brighton fans a couple of seasons ago? Or how about the Brighton hoolies serving jail time for fighting in the street with Spurs fans?

Anyone and everyone knows that rival firms fight outside the ground. Why would Chelsea hoolies waste good money when they could just arrange to have the Millwall mob at Victoria?

Because it makes a good story to the press and to naive saps on here that believe what the media tell them!

No one was ever convicted of that 'stabbing.' Many ways to slice yourself in a brawl without getting stabbed.

The lads banged up for the fight with Spurs have been out for months.

These were all hoolies attacking other hoolies miles away from any innocent passer by at a pre-arranged fight. Unfair comparison.

Not saying one is morally better than the other just that you're talking out your ar$e.

Chelsea hoolies were to blame were they? Utter scollobs. I seem to recall that Liverpool fans tried that excuse at Heysel too.

And if I am right about the "neutral tickets" the F.A. sold being the root of the trouble, can we blame the F.A.for causing this just as the were culpable for Hillsborough by allowing a game to be played at a ground with no safety certificate.

You want to debate Heysel? can we start with the fact that EUEFA greed played a significant role in that disaster. That the ground(a converted Bicycle Race Track) was falling apart, the concrete rotting, evidenced by how easily Juventus fans broke it up to use as missiles before during and after the disaster. How the greed of EUEFA led to poor segregation and the section next to Liverpool(allocated to Belgium F.A.)was sold on the black market by touts to Juventus fans,
How the blocks between fans were seperated only by flimsy chicken wire fences, how those Juve fans were pelting Liverpool fans with chunks of rotting terracing before the kick off and how Liverpool fans ran the Juventus who panicked and ended up with only a badly built breeze block wall to protect them.

Heysel was a disaster that had one true similarity to Hillsborough and it aint Liverpool fans.BOTH WERE PLAYED AT GROUNDS UNFIT TO HOLD A GIRL GUIDES RALLY BECAUSE GREED AND INCOMPETENCE BY THE LEAGUES(F.A. AND EUEFA)LED THEM TO BE PLAYED THERE REGARDLESS OF PREVIOUS WARNINGS THAT BOTH GROUNDS WERE UNSAFE.

How about we discuss that Brighton fans have been voted the 'poshest', 'most fashionable' and most something else in recent seasons (not the 80"s, 90's or even noughties) but in the last 2 years. But you carry on living in the past Wall fan, how deep are you, Narnia deep, are you coming out soon?

Actually, I know for a FACT that there were large numbers of non Liverpool fans there. I was thirteen and heading to Belgium on the day of the game for a school football tournament. I was a palstic red at the time, along with many of my mates and we all wore our scarves and hats for the journey. Our early morning ferry was rammed with football fans on the piss. They were from all manner of clubs (I remember Chelsea, Millwall and Spurs) and they were all boasting that they were going to the game and were going to run riot and fight the Italians and the police. Our Liverpool colours turned out to be hot property and they were happily trading cans of beer for scarves, sweatbands, beany hats, whetever they could get their hands on. As far as I am concerned Heysel was down to English fans, not just Liverpool fans.

Im not defending anyone, Millwall, west ham or Brighton. Im just saying that if others were to blame as well as millwall then it is amazing how people will just take the lay option and see just millwall. The press also see an easy headline. This is no defence of anyone, just wondering why people dont want to blame every culprit instead of just one.

Today's trouble was apparently because Millwall were not allowed to leave the stadium before the game ended, police tried stopping them with batons. It was nothing more than that.

And people will listen to this because Liverpool are a big club and have a huge press support and Liverpool will share the blame with the others for Heysel. But if, and its just an if, this was organised trouble, people will not give the same fairness to the small club called millwall.

Every time Millwall fans are involved in anything you're on here, going on about how Brighton fans are just as bad, how others were probably to blame.

Millwall fans behave like scum again and again. What happened today was in full view of the TV cameras - nothing to do with looking for an easy headline. Millwall fans believe that the old ways are the best ways, and are quite happy to live up to their sterotype.

Brighton are not as bad. But equally Brighton can and have been serious trouble makers. Anyone who has followed the Albion knows that. Not every week, but at certain games like Wolves away this season. Millwall do attract trouble but then Spurs west ham and Chelsea have over the years been far worse than millwall but that does not make a story that will sell.
