Correct - it's not close. One of them has won some of the biggest prizes in World Football and has had an offer of £32m turned down for him - and appeared in shortlists for the BALLON D'OR. One of them has done **** all. Ridiculous to even talk about them in the same thread. Any neutral fan would laugh at the comparison, like comparing Ronaldinho to Will Hughes at Derby.

Brilliant post - whilst Williams will have a great career, no doubt, he is simply not in Vicente's class bracket.

Only the most blinkered and deluded would think he is.

I think Williams may end up being given good reason to go down, rather than dive, when we play Palace, Just like that Derby youngster, not proud of it but I can see it happening.

Swindon, but used to be Manila
Hence the name Joniesta

A tad excessive at the moment, but he's pure class and will grace the top 4 of the Premiership for many years to come. I can see him going to Arsenal in a couple of years and starting alongside Wilshere for them.

Shame he's Welsh :(

Arsenal have spoken to him and Palace,,,,his Dad told me with his own lips....(not the daily star)

A lad with local connection....his grand father lives next to my mother in Portslade, John Williams father went to Portslade school before joining Kent police in 1979..

I have seen John and his dad a few times since Xmas each time I try to get him to wear a Brighton shirt for a pic just to post on BBS but he wont do it.

Nice kid...good mates with his Dad Peter, pity he plays for the Pikeys.....

He plays for Charlton?

as I have said countless times.....his family is from Portslade....Father.. Peter Joined the Kent Police...Grandfather, aunties uncles and cousins still live in Hove, Portslade and Shoreham

I'm happy to be corrected but I'm pretty sure Williams was born in Pembury & lived & went to school in Tunbridge Wells. Did his family move away from Portslade before he was born?

His immediate family are from Tunbridge Wells and still are. He went to Bennet Memorial School in TW and played his football for Tonbridge Angels until Palace discovered him at a trial session in Sevenoaks. I think swindons eagle was saying his extended family are from Portslade. Perhaps his ma and pa do not live together?

So where does Williams play as someone who has no interest in the Palace team I have no idea if he's good or hype, will he be up against Liam if so and him being the new Maradona then that contest could be worth the entrance fee alone and go a lone way to deciding the outcome.

Much as Palace have had a great season and played well for their postion some of the deluded fans on here bigging up their entire team is hilarious. With a team of 11 world class players I can only assume they are disappointed this season as they have not run away with the league and won both cups. See you on the 17th.

As Jules in Pulp Fiction might say 'that's an interesting point' and indeed not without merit. Lets see who has the biggest impact on the game on the 17th...

Stop exaggerating and be fair. They only claim to have the best 'keeper, best defensive midfielder, best attacking midfielder, best 2 wingers and best attacking partnership.

Williams is an attacking midfielder. Sitting behind Murray with Zaha and Bolasie on either wing. Where does Bridcutt play? Isn't he a full back? He's he one who was turned inside out by Zaha back in December if I remember rightly? I expect Bridcutt will be up against Zaha and Bolasie again in that case (they tend to swicth wings often).

Bridcutt was one of their lads who couldn't live with Zaha that day even though according to them he didn't have a good game. Got turned inside out and hacked him down to the side of the box second half and got a yellow.

Apparently he's better than Jedinak

All things being equal , Winifred and Bolassie will have to deal with Upson and Bridge
