A few places that I've been to where I wouldn't want to live:

Seoul
Paris
Singapore (sorry The Spanish, just my opinion!)
Damascus
Dubai

And some I would:

South West Crete
Basque region of northern Spain/southern France
San Francisco
parts of Utah, although their drinking laws could be a problem

And one I haven't been to but quite fancy the look of is Seattle and the San Juan Islands.

Never been to Seattle either, but I often look at weather around the world on the red button and it seems to rain nearly every day in Seattle, maybe someone can confirm this.

It would be a lot of flying to come back for matches but honestly there's nowhere else I'd rather be than Sussex

Sydney, Australia
Springdale, Utah, USA. Then get a job with the national park service in Zion. Not that I've thought about it at all.

I've been to Utah a few times and love it. I often say if Utah was a country it would be recognised as the one with the most stunning scenery in the world.

But it's not a country so is it allowed as an answer to this question??

no but plan to plot up there permanently asap. i can do grotty asia from there easy enough for visits, but anyone tells you its boring is a tedious backpacker - to live its f***ing brilliant.

absolutely.

we packed up life in england 18 months ago and have lived in sg since. won't ever return to england to live now we've seen just how good life can be. stuff just works here. there was a fire on the mrt the other day, melted the tracks and whatnot, three hours later they repaired it and the trains ran again. makes me chuckle when i read about two flakes of snow causing carnage in england.

it's only oppressive if you want to go around killing, stealing or chewing gum. small sacrifices to make for the improved quality of life and opportunities we have here rather than elsewhere. and yeah it's expensive, but you aren't taxed out the wazoo, 20% top rate of tax and you only pay that on anything earned above £160,000gbp. the median wage earner here pays no income tax.

it's sterile in so much as it's clean but if you scratch the surface a little there is a lot going on here.

My instant knee jerk reaction would be Barbados.

But in reality, I'll be joining chucky1973 & HovaGirl in the South of France Albion commune.

come join me, hope to be there in about 10 years. I already have shirts up in a restuarant I use and the chap that runs its and one of his staff have been over to the Amex for the Sheff Wednesday game this season. they brought kit as well and have adopted the Albion as there team!!

Have you had a bang on the head today? You're now saying darkies are friendly.

I think Boston for me. I'd just watch sporting event after sporting event until I dropped off the perch.

I found Boston a bit dull.
