Adblock Plus , Adblocker and other similar programs have options available to "whitelist" websites.

Which is what I've done for NSC. On Chrome you just click on the ABP logo and uncheck "Enabled for this site". Job Done, NSC whitelisted.

Also using XP I have to set the security settings to max to even get NSC to turn over a page - otherwise my CPU useage and memory useage goes beserk 99% and 100mb. Anyone know why (other than crap PC).

To answer your question; I don't know why, but I am on an old PC running on XP but have moved from IE to Chrome, mainly because NSC ran so badly on IE. Try Chrome as a browser: No problems with ads or page turning here!
