I think a lot of us were at the Archer demos, (although I was'nt in my teens then) entirely a different matter to today...then we were in danger of having no club at all....now we have one of the finest stadiums in the country and some think it's alright to set their own rules...if you are a fan then you KNOW the stadium regulations...all the club are asking is for you to comply with them...possible for most most it's easy...it seems that some think when being asked to remain seated think 'Oh' nobody tells me what to do...'Stand up if you hate Palace'....

That was nothing to do with it that particular steward was having a FIT seriously nothing to do with it, the fat steward was lumped for being a twat......the stewards in my opinion well out of order, i approached them afterwards in a sensible manner to ask why the need for heavy stuff, and also told them that i think they may have damaged the relationship by this with supporters in the North.........they told me that they didnt want to but was instructed from above "Big Brother " ......to me personally i watched them and they seemed to be looking for anyone slighlty out of line....

I think after Bolton they've been told to accept zero tolerance, well if steward behave like it will provoke trouble, not prevent it

You fail to notice

1. Bloom created and sold the North stand on the basis that it would be like the old north stand
2. They sold season tickets on the basis that it would be more relaxed on the standing issue
3. Poyet wants a passionate atmosphere. The club cannot have it both ways. Poyet has to decide to tell the fans to sit down and give up home advantage or have a little word with Hebbard

Its time for the north standers to protest. Nip this in the bud now. A few walk outs and the club will make the stewards behave themselves

The bloke wasn't antagonising anyone, there's been about 5 or 6 eye witness accounts on this thread who have all said the same thing but the ex-stewards all refuse to believe it.

Yes,there might have been 5 or 6 eyewitness...but there are others who saw it close up as well and they give different accounts...so all those who give the account that agrees with you are right...and everybody else is wrong?

Why should the supporters in this country not have a say in what the rules are?

The majority of people in that stand want to stand up and watch the match. There's a stand at every ground in the country where people want to stand up, and as long as it's not hurting anyone then it should be allowed. You don't get anywhere in life by bowing to unpopular rules or laws, if you believe in something you have to make a stand.

I've got a brain and can think for myself, I know I'm not in any danger standing in front of my seat, I know I'm not spoiling anyone's view of the match because the people behind me want to stand as well so what's the problem? Because the rules say so, computer says no............. sorry but I don't live my life like that

And when I say innocent, I know they were both technically breaking the rules by standing up but no different to hundreds of people in front and behind.

How many times, we all saw it. I think things are getting confused between the accounts of the two incidents. I can pick out when someone is talking about one or the other because I saw both other people's accounts are, on the whole, exactly what I saw. Nobody has disagreed about the incidents on this thread, everyone has said the same thing, but there are two different incidents and that is where the confusion lies.

Sorry,I thought there was standing in the North Stand...some say the back four rows,some say seven,some say eight...maybe that does need clarification...but remember it is an all seater Stadium.
Again you say that there cannot be an atmosphere if nobody is allowed to stand...don't see the logic,I can shout out support for the 'Seagulls' just as easy sitting down as standing up,standing and cheering when a goal is scored is acceptable.
So a walk out is your solution....good thinking...I know,lets walk out after you have paid for your seat...that'll larn em'....that will make the stewards behave....what's going to make the few fans behave,...a lock in?

That hits the nail on the head. I feel sorry for the players. Protests are not is what is wanted at this crucial time but people wont accept being treated in such a way. Maybe Poyet could have a word with management to help the situation

This is how they protested in Sweden. Sat in silence for the first 10 minutes, then both sets of fans let rip - what a brilliant spectacle.

Look, there is literally no point in trying to reason with you on this. You are only capable or willing to think in terms of what's written in a rule book then we will never agree, you're welcome to your view. Agree entirely with the fans but have to say ' If you all hate Palace clap your hands ' used to make more noise back in the day.... and you do not have to stand to sing and clap !!! just an idea . I despise sitting and wish safe standing would be sanctioned. in the meantime ...... maybe try this and a few different bloody songs too !!!
