Splitting NSC up a bit: the age old chestnut

One thing that strikes me [MENTION=6886]Bozza[/MENTION] is that the 'all in together' main board would work much better, if people were encouraged to actually use the post icons. If every football thread was labelled with the little FOOTBALL or the little ALBION SHIRT, then people who only wanted to see such content, would find their appropriate threads very easily, and ignore the others.

At the moment the only post icons that regularly get used correctly are the HORSE and CRICKET ones.

Perhaps we need a few more. Maybe a JESTER one to identify jokey threads, and a TOTTY one?

3. Mods 'adjust' the icon if it is mis-applied.
4. Provide some tool for users to view only threads of a certain icon, thereby enabling those who want 'football only' to get that view, whilst not changing things for those who like the current smogasbord of threads.

I'm not aware of either 2 or 4 being available as modifications, but I could pay someone to create them - shouldn't cost too much.

I think everybody would. If [MENTION=6886]Bozza[/MENTION] can make it work, its basically the perfect solution, for everyone.

If you are solely interested in football / Albion threads, then you set your 'filter' to only display those. If you are only interested in sport, you could add the cricket and 'other sport' categories.

If like many of us, you are happy to see all of it, and click on whatever looks of interest, you can leave the filter off altogether.

Right. Glad we've solved that one. What's next? Israel / Palestine?

This is a brilliant idea, and would solve all the annoyances I have with NSC.

For me 2 extra icons would be useful - in fact they could be combined - (1) NSFW, and (2) Tasteless ( which can infact be NSFW if the title screen is seen at work ).

Split it up. I look on NSC for football news related to the Albion. I have NO interest in 'does god exist' or 'if NSC was a school...' threads, at all.

All these people saying they only care about the football threads... Well then just click the football threads!!!

By splitting i think the place will get quieter... you'll have different posters split into groups depending on the section they prefer... This will cause an NSC divide... There will then be plans to arrange fights with eachother outside of work... it will escalate until somone dies in one of the clashes... Just trouble waiting to happen

Tbf anything NSFW should be in the 'other stuff' forum, anyway, for google approval purposes.
