Personnally I don't mind the non-football stuff in general on the main board, but wish some of the cruder and crass threads were shifted onto their own area.

A question to those who support a split ( and to @Bozza as well I guess as he and the mods would have to police it ) :

Given virtually EVERY thread, football related or not, deviates from the original topic down numerous paths, how on earth would you be able to split single threads covering multiple topics.

I think that in time people would learn what is appropriate to post in the football threads. Obviously a certain amount of moderating will occur and the clowns would try and test it out not and then. However if a topic deviates that much from football, then it probably deserves a thread of its own anyway, no?

Out of interest, what is the set up on other football club forums? Are they split up in to football and non football areas?

I voted keep it as it is for a number of reasons (most of which have probably been covered, but hey ho!):

The ease of everything being in one place. I don't want to have to bother to choose between football and non-football.

If there is a thread title that doesn't interest me (such as horse-racing, bottom-wiping, X-factor, etc, etc), I just ignore it. Incidentally, this is why I don't understand everyone's problem with Ernest, but that is a different discussion all together.

Sometimes I'll come on here and not look at any football-related threads. That is the joy of it - everything in one place, regardless of what you want to read about.

I also find some of the appeals, suggestions, local news on here very useful. I think it was via NSC I found out that Amy Winehouse had died. The story, and the reaction on one board. Split them up, and I would not have gone searching for it in the non-football section. It also sparks great debate, too.

For all the frustration of the most recent glut of threads on transfer deadline day, I found many of them amusing, so don't think they should go. My second point above should apply. When you see a thread titled "XXXXX signs", there is really only going to be one thing in that thread...

You don't go to the Amex and JUST talk about football with your mates. NSC should be no different.

Keep it as one for me... I don't even go into the other sections now... everything is easier in one place.

were can I get a decent proctologist ?
Should battenberg have apricot jam or fondant icing cement?
What's the most unusual mode of transport to get you to an Albion match?

Split it up. I look on NSC for football news related to the Albion. I have NO interest in 'does god exist' or 'if NSC was a school...' threads, at all.

No.

Is it not possible to have two ways to view the big board: one with it split into football/non-football and the other one as it is now ???

A football only section would be good for people who just want to pop on and see the footy stuff.

What's stopping them from reading the footy threads on the main board?

There are threads about stuff I have no interest in, (Motor Racing, Favourite Cheese etc)...........and I ignore them.

Some threads are part football and part other issues, it would be a moderating ballache deciding in which forum they should appear.

Yep - New Posts (top left) will give you a view of all posts across all forums. This could be your default 'everything' view.

Maybe could be a bit tougher on taking some threads to the Childish Ramblings section.

And some posters need to remember this is a forum for views and opinions, not a chatroom

Agreed.

How are you, by the way? Haven't seen you around for a bit.
