Not sure you understood my point at all..... I was asking for evidence either way... you didnt give any so perhaps we should give him the benefit of the doubt... or we can exhibit the same petulance that we have accused Hammond of.

No problem, it's up to you how you regard Hammond.
When he left, there was a struggle that involved and ultimately cost the manager his job.
One had to think it wasnt all selfserving or petulence.

Aren't we all self serving when it comes to our jobs and salaries though? If not, most NSC'ers are far more noble than me.

You HAVE to be 'shitting me! Wtf??
He strung us out when he'd won his contract he wanted, using our worst rivals to cuckold Brighton!
Seeing as you are SO understanding, can I take over your bird? I'll respectfully not celebrate in front of you, and if she's not working out you can have her back to love and cover with adoration.

maybe he has a bit more tolerance than u have or sees somethings are more important in life...tolerance isen't too bad a thing to have i would have thought

...says the man who uses the words "dick" and "pathetic" as well considered rejoinders to other posters opinions.

I'm not the one going on about tolerance as a virtue of mine.

OK...I'll tone it down for you.

Hypocrite...how's that?

That's fairly balanced and reasonable

My view on this. We lowly fans don't know anything about what goes on behind the scenes for the most part. We pick up snippets which may or may not be accurate and the same as what's published in the media, even the cubs own press releases are often suspect.

So we're making judgements with very little information - not healthy methinks

I work on the basis that if the club think it's OK to have someone back then whatever occurred at the point of departure hadn't concerned them to any great degree so why should it concern me?

I'd much rather criticise players for their on pitch performance and what I can see and what I know to be fact

This is a good response, I fully concure. Hey I can't keeep writing just "this" although thats the easy way to answer.

erm..neither did i i was suggesting another person maybe was being tolerant ...u r a moody bugger arent ya

Just object to being insulted by fellow fans on here for having an opinion.

Those who know me would, I hope, know I am always up for a spirited debate without resorting to insults without personal provocation.

Do you know the story of Judas Iscariot?

He was a high profile member of team Jesus. Loved by the disciples.

Then the boys head was turned. He decided he would turn traitor on his team and took 30 pieces of silver from the men who hated Jesus and signed for them.

No similarities there then.

At least the original judas had the decency to realise the error of his ways and hang himself.

Oh I say!

It must be remembered 99% of footballers are not "fans" of their clubs - the club is merely an employer. The only loyalty they have is to fulfil their contract.
That's the sad truth really, which makes the likes of Craig Noone a breath of fresh air. He handled the move very well.

i completely agree with you. We forget and i am guitly as well that this a job for them. I worked in London - I got a new job offer better money, better package, less traveling from brighton and i moved jobs. If i get a better offer next week go back to london i would move to better and further my career. Thats all footballers do - even murray going to palace. It has to be assumed he went there for better money or longer contract. We might not like it but we would all do it.

i have a problem with murray going to palace, but at the same time had a lot of respect when he refused to celebrate after scoring against us, but with hammond his behaviour was disgusting when he played against us, total lack of respect.

I agree to a certain extent, but we have to remember that Hammond was one of those ' marmite ' players when he was at the club. Lots of Albion fans slagged him off while he was one of our players, whilst others could appreciate what he bought to the team. Lots of fans didn't appreciate what we lost until he had gone and we never really replaced him until Crofts signed.

I am not excusing what he did but there are two sides. He took a fair amount of abuse when he played for us and he got loads more when he came back with other teams. Respect works boths ways.

Maybe Judas was the wrong term to use. Perhaps I should have said loyalty.

I was reading yesterday about people on Facebook hoping Noone breaks a leg. My suspicion is that these are The same fans who don't think twice about a displaced player replaced by a new better one. I'm not naive, I know about the one eyed nature of all of us. I just despair when I read that kind of thing knowing full well how one directional that pov can be.

Obviously you are better informed than I am about the behind the scenes conversations and shenanigans
