Way out West
As I was in the water I was thinking this time last year we were in St Ives - and the water was bloomin' cold.

Did you have a wet suit on ?

There were thirty of us....the only person who had a wet suit was the guide! I should have realised there might have been a prob when we told to change very quickly afterwards, put on loads of clothes, drink two or three mugs of hot tea, and eat a bowl of porridge....!

Hardly Mumm! :)

Also be wary of Weever Fish, which are around our coast at the mo and several people have been stung (sea shoes are always worn at this end)

High tide 4pm tomorrow off Brighton and low wind speed so all looking good :)

Too modest Cheeky. You are our Go To Guy for all things sea swimming.

I may have to get some sea shoes. They do look a little camp though.

Your natural layers of body fat must have helped Shirley ?

I don't wear shoes tbh Mumm - black wetsuit socks are ideal and will add to your 'James Bond factor' as you stride out of the sea with dagger, conch shell and two piece beige swimming costume. :)

This was me earlier:

I had a good swim after work today and will do the same.tomorrow. not seen it that calm many times. And the sewage works will be fully operational this time next year so these are our last dicings with death!!

You are either a sea swimmer or not. If you are - you don't worry about stuff like that.

I can cope with most things but those and seeing the odd " Sea Mouse " bob by put me off

Worthing
Just had a week swimming off the shore of Paliokastritsa in Corfu and it was bliss. Hiring boats and going out to little islands, anchoring and swimming in the crystal clear waters.
That beats any pool.

The sea is far too cold to swim in in this country. I love snorkelling but wouldn't dream of it in the UK.

The more you go in the more you can deal with lower sea temperatures. I go in all the year round (neoprene gloves and socks in winter - or wet or dry suit if you're a complete wuss) and know many others who do too.
