Michael McIntyre is one I find really irritating.

Predictably, some people are not reading the thread title. Clearly there are plenty of reasons to hate Clarkson, Moyles, Ferguson, Lennon etc.

Surely we want to hear about people who are disliked for no apparent reason.

A lot of posters are missing the point here. Some of the people named are obvious- ie there are extremely GOOD reasons for loathing them. Clarkson would be a key example: pompous, self-important, egotistical, spectacularly unfunny.

This thread- if I am reading the original poster's intent correctly- is for people who on balance are quite inoffensive, yet for no good reason, they get on your nerves.

I'd suggest that Welsh woman off the One Show. She's never offended anybody, she's about as opinionated as one of those nodding dogs you get on the parcel shelves of cars, and yet she irritates the hell out of me. I'm sure she's a lovely lady, but if she's on screen, I'm reaching for the remote control.

Sue Barker is another. Lovely lady and all that, I bet she willingly gives up her seat on buses for pregnant women and helps old ladies across the road.

But I can't abide her simpering flirtatiousness whenever Ally McCoist hoves into view, or the feeling that, deep down, she gets the presenting gigs over someone knowledgeable like Clare Balding simply on the basis of being (and it's all relative here) slightly better looking.

Steve Ryder.

BETTER.

And I'm going to add the actors who play Ian Beale and Phil Mitchell. Eastenders seems a place for talentless actors to show off how poor they really are. These wooden numpties might be nice chaps in real life for all I know, but why not have some ambition and prove you can act somewhere other than on the shittest soap on telly.

Exactly, seeing names like Jeremy Clarkson and Fearne Cotton it's quite obvious why you wouldn't like them.

That Rachel Mackley weather woman from South East Today is my suggestion, she really gets on my nerves but I can't pinpoint exactly why.

Simon Cowell makes my flesh crawl.

Want to get into someones pants? Put the talentless waste of space on your TV show.

Got a soft spot for dogs? Engineer a win for one.

It's bad enough that he makes so much money on the back of others (have you seen how well One Direction are doing in the US?)

And the nation just sits up and begs for more. Can't you see what he's doing you fools!

I now have to turn the TV off when he's on.

Thank you for the opportunity to rant. :)

Seconded! Generically anyone who is a "celebrity" without any discernible reason as to what skill/talent they have exhibited to earn the title. A full would be too long to mention but Vernon Kaye (or his doppelganger P J Bourg) and Katy Price are prime examples, plus anyone who has been on a "reality" TV show.

sim is right. some of the choices are blindingly obvious. i was after ones for no reason. and to explain my michael mcintire, i gather he's a twat, but have never seen him perform, or talk. i just took an instant dislike to him as soon as i saw him.

Actually, keeping on an ITV Sport tip - I can't stand Jim Rosenthal either. Maybe it's his 'amiability' that makes my skin crawl, but whatever it is I've never liked the bugger.

Keeping to the dislike criteria mentioned, my dislike of Sian Lloyd is totally illogical. However, I can't stand it when she gives a weather forecast with a cheery almost apologetic smile, informing the Country that the Weather is going to be ...well, shit.

Having a happy cheery person telling me its going to piss with rain & be grey & depressing really winds me up !

ooooh, what's Vernon Kaye's wife called, the one who hangs around with Bruce Forsyth on Strictly Come Dancing?

Someone once said she was dead behind the eyes, and I think that's a great description of her. Living proof of the fact that to be a female presenter on TV you can be as dense as anything, so long as you're pretty. Whereas if you're a bloke, you can be ugly, old AND shit (nice to see you...to see you...NICE!) and still have a job.

Edit: Tess Daly
