In his first season in charge at Molde, he guided them to their first league championship in 100 years. I reckon he must have something going for him as a manager. Could be a decent coup for Villa.

Looking forward to another bright young managerial talent in the country in the Rodgers/Martinez/Poyet style

What does it matter?

It doesn't. But it would be nice if there was a breed of young English managers trying to get their teams playing a style of football which pretty much everyone wants to see English teams adopt. Maybe that will come in 10 years when the current players learning to play the style are retiring and taking on management jobs. Or maybe in 10 years we'll be back to kick and run. Who knows.

hmmm.....I'm gonna go Solskjaer to Wigan  AVB to Villa and Ryan Giggs to WBA  (I don't know if Giggs has coaches badges but he'll make a fine manager :p )

What qualities do you think he has that will make him a great manager!!! Do you know the guy quite well or is you comment based on the fact he is a great player?

The former, hopefully. Two of the hottest managerial properties coming through ARE British anyway, in Rodgers and Lambert. Personally I don't really care - most of the foreigners (Martinez, Poyet, De Canio, De Matteo, etc) are guys who played in England for years, and have progressed to management here. They understand English football and the things that ARE good about it - they are not just imported from abroad to take all the posts.

I dunno.....he just strikes me as the type to make a good manager and break the 'average footballer, great manager' pattern

Correction. Aston Villa haven't offered Ole Gunnar Solskjaer anything. From as close to the horse's mouth as you can get. Apologies.

Good morning. Seen the presser, and English newspapers are not right when saying Solskjær snub Villa. He'll consider an offer if given.

Don't you love the rumour mill? Nothing is nailed on, a done deal or any such thing until the announcement is made, don't people ever learn?

Giggs does have some coaching badges, i read an article where he states he did them with Scholes. I think it was an article in the Times on Wednesday in which he claimed Scholes could still do a job for England.
