Yes with the added benefit that it is not subject to 50% Tax.

Its essentially so that Ben Haim gives permission for Pompey to use his ''image'' (I.E You can't put a picture of John Terry on Cillit Bang without his permission) and in return he gets more dosh. No idea how the tax works but general financial concensus is that is is a way of topping up his wages but avoiding tax.

Football players do not pay the 50% rate , they are registered companies so only pay the 20% rate.

Somebody help my Vodka soaked, age old brain please...Was'nt there a rule coming out that a club could not spend more than they earned?...What happened to it ?...when will it be a rule on all clubs.....would stop a lot of clubs going into administration.

Peter Storrie is this morning reported to be trying to put together a consortium to buy Pompey again. Which will be nice for them, seeing as he was very much part of the regime who put them in the position they're in.

In other news, the administrator has now said there "will" definitely be a club in existence for the start of next season, and they have enough funds to continue trading until May at least.

My money is on another "miracle" escape from relegation, a scot-free escapade from administration, a mass-ripping off of all their remaining creditors, and that Portsmouth FC will carry on in the Championship next season like nothing happened.

heehee @ the chartered accountants' name

Not to mention, the first name of the Portsmouth North MP putting her name to that appeal spiel is about the true worth of the club.

"I am so pleased that the PST are able to offer Pompey supporters this opportunity. The fans are the club and every club whose fans take a stake in it and are able to play a governance role will benefit:- in the boardroom, on the pitch, and in the community. The wider football community and Parliament agrees the time is right for fan ownership and I am delighted that Portsmouth is taking an early lead on this."
Portsmouth North MP, Penny Mordaunt

Hopefully HMRC will dig their heels in this time. I'd be surprised if they settle for peanuts in the pound after last time.

It's almost funny how far they have sunk in terms of professional standards and financial management, but seemingly will 'get away' with it. Clear the decks/debt, avoid relegation, start afresh in the SAME BLOODY DIVISION with a fresh crop of well paid players, and the cycle of debt begins again.

They're still in the relegation zone. There's hope yet.

Just thought I'd register my amusement at Pompey's defeat by Millwall last night, leaving them nine points adrift of safety with twelve to play for. They could be relegated this weekend if they lose (admittedly unlikely: they're playing Doncaster) and Bristol City get a point (also unlikely, they're at Birmingham). Either way, it's looking good.

On a cold April evening, they'll wave goodbye to Southampton forever, the sinking ship finally going down amid hints of mismanagement and dark deeds. Oh...my mistake...that was the Titanic.

As I walked from the stands to the toilets after the game last night, Pompey's result popped up on the screen. And I instantly found my smile again

Yes, yes very much this :lolol:

They'd have held high hopes of winning that one too, at home to one of the few teams they had a hint of a chance (like a HINT of a deflection, SkySports reporters) of catching...and they blew it. Massive win for Millwall. I bet that went down SWIMMINGLY with the natives :D

12 points to play for and 9 points adrift. I hope they're relegated with the gap to safety more than 10 points so they can't use their thievery, sorry, administration as their excuse.

Weren't we supposed to be hoping Portsmouth won last night, to keep Millwall in the scrap as they play Blackpool next?

Well I just couldn't do it. I wanted Millwall to win, and I'm delighted that Portsmouth are doomed to division 3, and will hopefully be down there for a few years to come. Bunch of twats. It's the changing of the guards. It's all about Southampton and Brighton in these parts now. Cheerio you f***ing CHEATS. :bigwave:

So it could be cheerio Pompey and hello Charlton this weekend, I'd call that a move in a positive direction for The Championship.

Enjoy derbies against Bournemouth

Their fans are already talking about keeping the existing players and mounting a promotion push next season. If they keep half of those players, with the debts still in place, it'll be another travesty. Rocha, Halford, Ben Haim, Norris, Lawrence, Kitson.

This is copied from a friend's Facebook, the said friend started out by celebrating our defeat to West ham but it quickly became a slanging match when the facts of Pompey's downfall were put across. No replies to any comments regarding action the fans should have taken, just insults about us 'does your boyfriend'etc .This is my favorite post and one which just about sums up the average attitude of Pompey fans:

'The FA should absolutely be hauled over the coals over their piss poor management!! How can they get away with letting a team go into administration, take ten points away from that team, find a "suitable" new owner who is actually "not suitable" and allows the club to go into administration again and lose another ten points (within the same year!) - absolutely appalling behaviour from the FA!!!!!'

So you see it's still just the FA's fault! Unbelievable.:banghead:
