Why does everyone keep saying this?

Brezovan was absolutely quality today, kept us in the game at points.

That save in the first half where he dived down to his bottom left and got a hand to the ball, how he saved that i'll never know.

If he keeps this form up i'd happily keep him next season.

Thoughts?

(I'd also like to say, quality performances from AEA and Navarro tonight).

On the night, he was fine. He wasn't tested, and he did what he had to do. But he's not a Championship goalkeeper, based on what we've seen in the last 2 years. He is a very competant number 2, but he's not going to be in goal when we win the league next season. If he is still our first choice this time next season, we probably won't be where we are now. I've nothing against Brezovan personally, obviously, I just don't think he's the goalkeeper we need for our Premier League push.

I didn't think he was going to be good enough, but I think he has proved me wrong. I am very happy with his performances for us this season....I do wish he would punch it less though.

We're going to need a really good keeper for next season. I'd be happy for Brez to be back up but not the main man.

As correctly pointed out by Acker in player ratings thread, his distribution was pretty woeful this evening. Too many clearances straight out of play and others landing nowhere near one of our players.

Fair point. I am one of the old school when it comes to Keepers. I like them to keep the ball out the Net first and foremost.

I was a massive Brez hater before he started at S'ton. Since then he's not much notable bad apart from the odd punch when he should catch it (seems to have stopped that recently though). I suppose having to watch ankergren for the first half of the season might have lowered my expectations of a decent keeper somewhat.

he is so much better than casper its unreal, but i agree he is a perfect 2nd keeper, but we need a quality, proven keeper at this level.

He's not perfect by any means, but I think he's been brilliant since he's been back.

Had the odd blip, but overall I think he'll be the only one of our keepers still here next season.

Would still try and sign a top keeper for next season, or at least someone to give him a real challenge, because I don't think we'll see Casper start a game for us again.

What you've also got to remember about Brez, is that he's not Kuipers, and some on here are still mourning his free transfer to Crawley

Replacement? Not in this division. I think Brez has generally been quality since he's come back into the starting 11: & anybody who thinks otherwise should probably f*** off & support somebody else.

Nothing against Brez at all, and I'd definitely keep him as cover, but if we're serious about promotion next season then a new first choice keeper has to be job one in the Summer.

I was watching the game in West Lower last night, and in the 2nd half Reading had 4/5 corners in front of us. Harte put all of them in the same spot just on the edge of the 6 yard box, Brez didn't get near any of them. Reading players at the back post should have done better, luckily they didn't.

We look under pressure from set pieces because our keeper isn't dominant enough in the area.

As a shot stopper he is great, distribution is usually OK, but he needs to be stronger off his line.

Wow. So going by this thread about one in ten agree with you. So we'll have crowds of around 2,000 people if all the rest f*** off and support somebody else. Might want to rethink that statement
