Can I also make it clear, that although your colleagues who have posted on here disputing what I have been telling you since Friday evening have somewhat irritated me, I do understand their confusion...and their initial disbelief that it is a machine scoring most of your points and not a player. The player/players concerned in the cheating are merely manipulating the programme.....deliberately of course.

Like you, none of us know exactly how these cheat programmes work.......and they only come to light when either odd scores or irregular and unexplained heavy scoring occur.We do know however, that every so often, some 'smartarse' will do his best to disrupt and skew these games.

I cannot agree with your thoughts on Malarkey aka 'Murray the Third' on this forum...(incidentally now banned for trolling and abuse). He came to our attention about 10 days ago, when posting on one of our PFYC threads. I thought his posting was odd at the time. A few days later, having evoked little response on this thread, he proceeded to start a deliberately provocative thread on NSC re; chanting 'Brighton take it up the bum etc etc' . He simply cannot help himself.

If this is the case, then fair enough.

I can simply say what I have seen on the BBS, and that is that Malarkey is a decent bloke, I haven't studied his posts in the Away End on the BBS nor have I seen many of his posts on here, and so you may well be right on that point.

During the week, he tried again on one of our PFYC threads to provoke, with his boasting of your team comfortably scoring 600 million points. Again, I have played this game some considerable time and you can spot these characters a mile off. They cannot help themselves returning to the site of their misdemeaners

As I said, I haven't seen this, and while I can understand where you are coming from I must defend him in that I can see why he may have done it based on our record of having never lost at the game (I can assure you, if he does cheat, that his cheating does not keep winning us games, it is the vast number of people that play that do), however I guess it would take looking at the posts individually to tell whether or not the tone in them suggest he knows something we don't (i.e., is cheating).

During last week, it was noted that score after score after score was added to your teams total against Blackpool.We noticed these scores because in the scoring charts.....no nik was used. I invite you to play another game and avoid putting a nik in before submitting the score. You will find that the score will not registered. Yes, we were aware then, that some sort of cheat programme was already being used by your player/players.

Again, I don't play much and so can't comment, this would be odd indeed but I didn't see it so am not going to comment either way.

You say Malarkey doesn't post much on your PFYC thread and you don't think 'it would be the kind of thing he does. I seriously beg to differ. He has not only boasted of his scores on your board, he has also boasted how he 'won' Aldershots game with 23 shots too. You will have seen his posts and mine (as well as the insults aimed towards me) ,detailing the discrepancies. For reasons that are inexplicable to me, your senior players who know the scoring well.......said nothing.

The Aldershot thing again is strange, granted. I honestly think our senior players no little more about our scoring patterns than anybody else, however we just support each other because we feel we know each other better and like to think nobody would cheat.

I accept he is one of your players.......and you are unwilling to slate him publicly...but you really should. He has done far more damage to your players than ours.

I see your point, and I will be all too quick to if he is proven or found guilty of cheating. However, until then, whatever evidence may or may not suggest, I am still hoping he has not cheated and so I will not be outright saying he has done anything wrong, because I don't know if he has. But if he has, he is completely and the wrong and should be banned from the site and have all his points removed.

I am really not sure where we go from here.....suffice to say that your player/players have totally ruined a game that was going to have 80-90 players each side....? Players who had looked forward to the game.....would have enjoyed the game.....and , in your teams case, put hundreds if not thousands of hours playing over the last two and a half years.

All this, is now discredited .....thanks to your player Malarkey...and anyone else in your team operating the cheat programme.

I registered on your forum some weeks ago. I had of course read your PFYC thread and decided that many of them were thoroughly decent people.....in particular 'Forever Stripes' 'Milky' and 'Salad' and 'Nimbalistic'. My thoughts at the time, was to strike up some sort of rapport with you, with a view of somehow, having a 'gentlemens' agreement to end the game at Mid-day on the 31st January......so everyone could go to Selhurst without wondering what might happen in the last few hours. It wasn't a practical thought I suppose...but hey....I was going to try...lol. Unfortunately when you register on your forum, the moderators took 3-4 days each time to allow my posts to show...the momentum of good intentions was lost.

I would (obviously, as it benefits us more than you!) suggest that this would, ideally, be the fairest way to do it. Would be very nice of both sides to acknowledge that whoever wins did it fair and square, and if this happens I will be very pleased.

Have you any practical suggestions to the current problem...?

I am open to suggestions.

The only thing I can suggest is that we carry on. I don't want to come on here to create argument and people hating me, I want a rivalry that also contains a mutual respect for each other, and I think the only way to do this (in the PFYC sense) is to try to continue the game and hope that, if he has cheated, he doesn't do it again.

I'm a Palace fan who has been playing since the start of the season. High score: 109,850.

I can see your point of view that if someone playing for Palace is cheating then you might as well enlist help from other clubs, I understand that.

However, looking at it from a Palace perspective can you acknowledge this as well. We have been unbeaten for 2 and a half years with a strong core team and a lot of other players that contribute now and then but come out for the big matches. Never in that time has anyone accused us of cheating or have we noticed any cheating from our players. Then suddenly, a few days before what has/had the potential to be the best game ever someone from Brighton comes onto the Palace forum accusing one of our players of cheating in a game against Blackpool that we were about 80 million ahead in I believe? That person accused said it was a glitch and has over 3000 posts on the BBS, I don't know him personally or online but apparently he's quite well known. You also seemed to know a lot about possible ways of cheating. Now as an average Palace fan on our message board, the immediate response is to believe "our" player over you. That's just human nature. Fueling that was also the realisation that you had a team of players from other clubs ready to play.

I understand the maths that you are using but also I do know that the game does glitch occasionally and I sometimes wonder how I have achieved a total. I don't think though that you can accuse every Palace fan to agree with him of backing cheating as I'm sure they believe that what he has said about the game glitching is true. (And want to believe him as he is Palace) I can also see why you would doubt him but at the moment we have no real proof either way.

The fact that there were so many players from other clubs all ready to play against us does suggest that you had been recruiting them rather than them just turning up and volunteering to play against us. That is not in the spirit of the game either which will also be why a lot of Palace fans are siding against you as they feel you have definitely cheated but aren't sure about what has happened on our side.

It's a shame this game has come to this as we were all looking forward to actually being tested for once and I'm sure your side were looking forward to maybe becoming the first team to beat us. I am fully against cheating and am very unhappy if it is true that someone has been cheating for us and will not condone it. The likelihood is that there has been cheating on both sides so far which is upsetting. As to how the game can be salvaged fairly I don't know. I just hope we can think of something as this has been ruined for everyone.

Whoever they are, if they are cheating, are ruining the game for the both of us. Would be nice if it could be agreed that only Palace fans played only Brighton fans but this would not ever happen at the moment I don't think.

if there are cheats then from your calculations that only adds up to very few scores you and i don't know about other scores
we didn't know about cheat programmes until you raised it , how do we know you and others are not using it

one thing we do know is that you have friends from other clubs who play the classic game
you also have a history of ganging up on other teams in that competition, this is cheating and we know you have done it in this game


how do you propose to solve that one !

The fact that players from other clubs were ready to play against you was simply because we strongly suspected a cheat programme had been formed days before, as I pointed out in my lengthy reply...lol.

The last time a cheat programme in the Classic version of this game was used...Brighton, Glasgow Rangers, Hull City, Darlington, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnet, QPR and Bristol Rovers players almagamated to defeat them (from memory it was Middlesboro......almost certainly not genuine Middlesboro players tho). It took a couple of weeks....but it was job done in the end and Middlesboro died a death after that...and Mousebreaker had to re-formulate the game to avoid that happening again.

At thepresent there appears to be no workable answer....particularly as this idiot/idiots are now using their cheat programme for both sides. It makes the playing of any us quite pointless at the moment. I hope your players understand this........and I,m hugely sorry for all the time and effort our players have put into this in the last couple of months.

I have put a lot of time myself into building our team with encouragement etc etc etc. How do Palace think I feel about this, having tried to lead the way and ask so many of our players to put so much time into this the last couple of months.....only to make their efforts pointless.

Thanks....just looked at that. That would be Blackburn....bottom of the table....playing Newcastlea really good team in PFYC......and giving them a run for their money. Already up to 11 million points in less than 24 hours, when in 5 of their last 6 games....they have not exceeded 2.5 million points in a week.

I think it is clear that this game has been hi-jacked and see no point in either teams genuine players continuing to play.

Will try and contact Mousebreaker tomorrow to ask their thoughts on this. One thing for sure....they won't be pleased. They rely on people playing the game so they can generate a decent revenue from advertising. This sort of cheating programmes kills games stone dead.....few players....less advertising revenue....game is scrapped.That would be a great pity.

The cheat scores wont bejust the odd one or two.....it will be all the scores from 'cpfc' for example. I would guess he scored in the region of 30-40 million points yesterday.......and is still going today.

Does anyone on your forum claim to be 'cpfc' or '3-1'.....?

I am really sorry.....but the game has been hi-jacked by a cheat programme.

I urge any player to stop playing.

The cheat programme is now generating scores for both sides........and finally, the Crystal Palace players are agreeing that this happening too.

I rarely check the top scores board (mainly because I know I wont appear on it) but have been watching it since this morning and something is deffo wrong, I think the main problem we have is from our game earlier in the season, we thrashed you out of sight in the first 2 days, because it mattered to Palace players of the game, a few months later (especially last few weeks) your scores have got up by a huge amount (not accusing you of cheating) so you must have had help from other teams and by your recuting drive, by all means get as many to play as you can, another level of hostilities is created, all good by me
I check on the game regulary (every week) if we are up against a good team, I join in (like a lot of other players I presume) we have out "top boys" and you know who they are, as do I, they normally take the game out of sight within days, thats how we do it!
Then you start talking about us cheating just looks odd, you have to concede that, the longer BOTH sides continue to play, the worse it would be for both of us (we know someone would accuse the other of "playing")
