Anyone on here had any experience of taking them? I'm 13 and a half stone but should be 12 and a half. So am just looking for a bit of assistance to shift the beer belly, whilst maintaining a good diet and exercise. I'm fully aware I need to to step up cv work to get the results, and cut down the Lager which I intend to do.
Don't really trust product reviews and looking on the Internet there does seem to be a wide selection. So anyone got any recommendations?

A guy at work was telling me that his wife is using some at the moment. These ones raise your body temperature by 1 degree. He says his wife is lazy and never leaves the house, but is losing weight .
That said, if you want to lose a stone and are happy to exercise and diet you should be able to drop the weight fairly quickly. I've lost about a 1.5 stone in 3 months.

A friend of mine took them, those Elli or whatever from boots.

She said that what they do is stop fat being absorbed into your gut so much but the downside is it passes right through you. If you eat a low fat meal in the first place then that's great but nosh down a burger and chips and you'll end up with oily brown water for your troubles. Lovely.

you answered your own question . tweak your diet , exercise more , do weight training . much better than diet pills

Totally understand what you are saying but if someone as fit as Kolo Toure was prepared to take them, then there must be a worthwhile reason for taking them. I'm not going to use them as a replacement for dieting or exercise but to combine the lot together.

What time frame are you looking at for the weight loss? Get your exercise and diet right and give it enough time then the weight will drop. More importantly the time will allow your mindset to change for the better and help prevent you going back to your old ways.

You should watch Requiem for a dream, that will put you off slimming pills forever.

I used to get sent them from South Africa, not for slimming but for their amphetamine content…wouldn’t touch them if I were you, unless of course they are prescribed which I doubt very much given you are only ever so slightly overweight.

Try getting a girlfriend or buying the karma sutra…that will shift a stone in no time!

You best fill your body with all sorts of drugs then - after all some really fit people take all sorts of stuff so it has to be a good idea, right?

Right? No of course not right. I'm not talking social drugs or anabolic steroids, I'm talking about hopefully a safe, pharmaceutical assistance in shifting a few pounds. Jeez have you never taken a paracetomol or an aspirin?

Eat less. Run more

Pretty much sums it up. Although instead of running, you can just walk everywhere at a fair old pace and make more journeys by public transport, using stairs instead of escalators and lifts. Then build up to running.

What's the point of losing weight through diet pills when your heart's going to pack up through under-use anyway?

I thoroughly recommend the bootcamp option for those wanting to get fit... been doing it for a few weeks and it has made a massive difference as well as being enjoyable (well. apart from the pain).

They can also be used to mask other drugs. This might have been the reason.

I'll be as polite as I can, but why don't you just eat more healthily and exercise instead of trying to cut corners?

I've lost 10-15 kilos over 18 months. I EAT WHAT I WANT, but exercise A LOT.

I occasionally run, but also train here http://www.ivammaciel.com

I don't feel like am trying to cut corners. My diet is actually fairly good I feel in terms of not eating too much fatty foods. However I (probably like many others) do consume too much alcohol in particular lager. And whilst I do visit a gym 3 times a week, 2 of them visits are spent doing weights. So I know the answer is to cut out Lager, cv exercise more and maintain the low fat diet I'm using.
