This.

Perhaps the examples I used suggested a concern about trouble. Essentially it was just related to getting a big crowd in and out efficiently. As discussed at length on here it may be a learning curve for the fans on how best to organise your day.

It the relative short term-from January 1988-that i have followed Albion the only real sizeable disorder i can remember in close proximity to the ground was after the Cardiff game in 1997-over half an hour of running battles.

The police will, like riding a bike, remember with contingency plans and training how to deal with any such problems.

The real action will no doubt be taking place in the town centre-a town centre that for 15 years has not had to deal with large amounts of away fans - for some younger fans and people in the town centre next season on a Friday & Saturday will be very much different from what they have been used to.

Or maybe older fans will get to notice that large numbers of away supporters behave differently these days?

Wasn't a pub smashed up when we beat them up there

Doubt Watford would bother having a go down here though

Er, I think people are exaggerating the risks somewhat. Whoever it is: Leeds, Palace, Pompey or whatever, we're only going to be giving whoever it is 2,500 tickets and these will sell out to season ticket holders. I may be wrong but I think a club's season ticket holders are relatively unlikely to cause trouble.

Meanwhile any hooligan elements are likely to meet up elsewhere as when we played Pompey in the cup.

All will be fine a few pockets here and there but really nothing to worry about in this day and age-i'd still be viewing the town centre slightly different especially as 3200 will be the allocation on cup days, otherwise business as normal for me.

It's ok, we'll probably get Morecambe at home in the third round anyway.

A bigger concern would be Lewes on match days-a stones throw from Falmer-potential for away fans to saturate such a small town-i would like to see trains from London not change there.

Hopefully the old bill will have it sussed. I hope there isn't much trouble around the ground itself or anywhere really. But Palace, Millwall and Pompey has potential to be naughty. This may be a stupid question, but the club says you can get all the way the ground via the concourse's to meet friends etc. Will they have a facility to close off the away concourse or will that be shut off anyway?

Can't see the Police having any say whatsoever in which team opens at the Amex. They may get involved in the organisation, eg insist on early kick off etc but they can't chose which team.

The first home bank holiday game is going to CPFC, so that the Croydon fans make a long weekend of it in central Brighton.
