Interviewer: How do you feel about your time here?

Glenn: Well the club's moving in the right direction, no doubt about that. Obviously with where we are in the league, and the new stadium, it's a great club to be at.

Interviewer: And you'd want to be a part of it going forward:

Glenn: Yeah without doubt.

Interviewer: You seem happier, in yourself and on the pitch as well, is that fair to say?

Glenn: Yeah, definitely! Like I said the club's moving forward in the right direction, who wouldn't want to stay at a club that's top of the league and moving into a fantastic new stadium?

==========

Let's see if that stops the number of THICK posts regarding Glenn's situation at the club. Probably not.

Mello - cue the usual knob heads who come out and say 'he's gonna say that in an interview isn't he'. Those people have no grasp on humans expressing themselves from their hearts :) As I said on other thread POYET HAS SAID THERE WILL BE NO FORSTER SITUATION AGAIN AND HAS SAID HE'S WAITING TILL NEXT YR TO DISCUSS ANY CONTRACTS DO STOP SHITTING IT...

Isn't he tacitly aknowledging that in the past he has been unhappy at the club though?

Gus was in the argus last week saying he would talk to players about contracts in january. It was linked on here.

People still seem to think he is stalling on his contract, and/or the club have withdrawn their offer etc.

This is NSC, things like facts don't play a part unless they are 'FACT!' type facts.

Eh? He has come out previously and admitted flat out that he wasn't happy here...we all know that.

But he's also since been in a number of articles (over the last year!) stating that he was much happier and now ful settled here.

Thing is, he's going to say that in an interview on Seagulls Player isn't he?!?! ???

He had to be that effusive did he? Read it again, he's not just saying the usual party line bollocks is he? He's clearly very excited about being here.

I've watched the interview and he does seem such a complex enigma just from that interview alone... when asked about his celebration, he offered a simple "its a secret" - which is just baffling, had anyone else ever had a celebration which was a "secret" that you can think of? It just adds to the whole thing of trying to work him out, what is he thinking, is he happy etc. that we have had in the 3 years he has been here... we can't work him out as a person, and we can't work him out as a player (Brilliant and the best player in Lge 1 one week, and lazy, disinterested, doesnt want to play for us the next) - personally I think thats why most of us love him... (That, and the fact he can turn a game on its head singlehandedly!)

Mellotron is right though - watching his reaction to the questions, and his answers (which come across very genuine) he does very much seem like he wants to stay... and with Poyet singling him out for praise more than once this season I would think the more likely scenario is that he will...

Murray has never come across as a man who simply says what people want to hear or someone who just rattles out the usual bollocks about loving the club, fans or manager, so on the occasions like this i think what he has said is actually sincere.

I also think the whole 'murray is an enigma' tag he receives is utter bollocks. Could it just be that he isnt like the typical footballer, full of cliches and hot air.

Loads of players won't say what their celebrations are about - Arshavin for example...

Without having actually heard the way he said it - it doesn't actually read to me very effusive, it read like normal party-line stuff to me. But, I hope he is now happy and I hope he stays - just saying, you can read into it anything you want to.

Thanks. Have now heard it. Trouble is with me, I believe in actions rather than words, and people can say whatever suits them at the time, then do something different. He may well be 100% genuine, I don't know him, so I can't tell - and these guys gets interviewed a lot, so know what to say. Would very much like him to stay and think he can definitely do a job at the next level up, hopefully next year.
