Ridiculous thread. Cup games cannot be moved apart from in exceptional circumstances and if you think this game qualifies then i fear for your sanity.

Just to add some perspective Horsham hosted Swansea at Queen Street a few years ago!

Go and have a lie down

This. Switching venue is what Screwfix Division 8 teams do.

why because you dont agree with the idea yourself? Believe me segregation will be a problem and was only testing the water for peoples opinions.....bens grandad has posted a couple of sensible opinions so what may be embarrassing for you may be of interest to others. Dont read the thread if its not of your high intellectual standards

we do not choose though.........jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Less likelehood of confusion over which team people support. I had a pub in Midhurst and there was a number of supporters there of both teams, I supported BHA my nest door neighbour went everywhere with Portsmouth..

I thought rules do not allow you to change venues

But thats irrelevant. To buy tickets for this game in the home areas you would need to be already on the BHA database.

There lies the reason why it is not a pointless poll. Police have the final say on where or when a game can be played if they say no then no it is.

Oh god that is it.......

So, would the police tell us to move the game if it was in the league?

NO!

pointless poll !!

Why and how can they justify such a change of criteria for buying tickets for home games. My nephew is coming home from Germany, in the army and wants to watch BHA but he hasnt done so for years why should he be stopped from attending a game. He isnt as I dont have a nephew in the army but you know the situation,

So let me get this straight because there are Portsmouth fans living in Sussex, its going to be carnage? even if you ignore my previous post which renders this point irrelevant, that arguement could be applied to any large Prem team or any London team (esp P

why? whats different to this game from the other 26 games this season. or last. or for the past 10 years at the theatre of trees, entertaining the likes of Milllwall, Leeds, Cardiff. and iirc Portsmouth?

this change of venue thing only happens rarely, when the home side is a non-league minnow with no facilities.

Dont make yourself look stupid. If its a cat c game then the club can make whatever rules they like within the fa guidelines.

Thankyou BensGrandad...a voice of reason, far from being embarrasing like some have said on here i think it could benefit all. I know we have hosted big matches before but dont you think it would be best for the club to have increased revenue, easier to segregate fans ect ect. It may be the action of a non-league club but we do play in a non-league type stadium and we have had history with Pompey fans at The Goldstone which was a venue that could accomodate a big match against them.

I dont make the rules but that will be the case - because of the arguement you put forward yourself!!!

1.for segregation purposes
2.If he hasn't watched a home game recently, then he's not a BHA supporter is he?
He's obviously your pompey supporting fictional nephew?

If there is an issue, the game can only be moved to the nearest ground to the scheduled home ground that does satisfy the police. Although I spose in this crazy hypothetical situation that could actually be Fratton. You can't just switch who the home team is. Anyways, we've hosted Palace, Pompey, Millwall, Leeds etc at Withdean before, why would this one suddenly become a problem?
