A league club can not under any circumstances change the venue, only non-league clubs can and this can now only be done due to the police as their ground may not meet the league standards for segregation. Our ground does so or we wouldn't be playing there so thread closed! The rules regarding a change for financial reasons changed some years ago.

Who cares?

1) we are fielding a team of reserves at FCUM.

2) Gus doesn't care so it will probably be a humiliation if we do get through.

Unfortunately Gus has made the Cup into a self fulfilling prophecy of an unwelcome distraction!

If we do get through FCUM I just hope we make those Pompey scumbags pay upfront before we send them any tickets as we are unlikely to see any money otherwise.

Well it would make sense if we win the replay. We would be allocated 3k of tickets for the trip to Fratton, the atmosphere would be better as far as the Brighton fans are concerned. If the tie is played at Withdean, hundreds of Pompey fans will be mixing with the home fans. A fixture at Portsmouth will be double (at least) revenue over a match at Withdean
everyones happy?

If Pompey win they progress in the competition
If we lose it will be no disgrace
Mr Poyet will be happy with his fans (cant imagine any booing) and also he would not mind losing to a team in a higher division and if we won.....happy days!
We would not really be surrending home ADVANTAGE as we seem to play better away! What do you think!

WE'LL NEVER GO TO POMPEY!!!

Swap venue? We'd be a laughing stock. I suggest (should we win the replay) that (*shock*) we try and win the game at home.

Besides the fact that the tie will not get switched to Fratton and that we are not yet in the third round, surely that fact that this could be an opportunity for Poyet to pit his tactical ideas against a team in the division we hope to be in next year is a chance we should be looking to take, not throw away. If we do get promoted this year then our first season in Falmer is not necessarily going to be an easy ride. On the contrary, we may well struggle unless there is a massive injection of funds. On the other hand, GP could play his strongest team and we could beat Pompey with our style of play and send out a message.

That is exactly what I am hoping will happen. We will then see how far off of Championship standard the players we have are.

What a load of old TOSH. If it's trouble that people are looking for, my guess is that it is more likely to occur on the streets of Portsmouth than in Brighton.

Is that another reason to try and switch it so it costs Portsmouth FC and Hampshire Old Bill not us and Sussex, especially as Portsmouth will probably knock the old bill anyway.

Will we give them the full 15% allocation or will this be another Cat C game with 845 tickets available??

Why will segregation be a problem? The club will do what they did for the FCUM game and only sell tickets for our stands to fans who've bought a home ticket during the course of the last two seasons (although I think they should also restrict this to fans who'd bought tickets for matches before the draw was made). The only way Portsmouth fans would be able to get home tickets is if Brighton fans buy them and then sell them on to away supporters. Why would anyone be stupid enough to do that - especially if the club brings sanctions against fans who do it.

Are you seriously suggesting a switch of venue that dramatically reduces the
number of Albion fans who can see the game ... when it's OUR home game?

Madness.

Do Portsmouth fans even give a damn about Brighton any more? I'm guessing they feel about us the same way we feel about Bournemouth.
