How frequent is the ryder cup? TYhe last time I remember watching/hearing anything about it was in, I think Ireland, where the guy who won it for europe was someone who had recently lost his wife to cancer.

How many have I missed?

I think was at least 6 years ago. It's held every two years.

Marvellous scenes, great fightback from the USA but we won and that is all that matters.

Chaotic scenes at the end

Just far enough away from LDC
Makes up for the abomination that was Nick Faldo's stint at captaincy.

But what has happened to Europe's historical dominance of the singles? That's now 3 of the last 4 signles rounds that we've lost.

I am honestly - but some bastard went and cut my family allowance to day

seriously I am very happy and well done to Monty. I just had hoped that it wasn't going to be so close today.

Tremendous news, fantastic for Europe and very well played. You have to give great credit to the States though for a teriffic fightback and I do feel sorry for their guys, particularly Tiger, I don't think anyone would have begrudged him victory after the 12 months he's had.

Not Luton! Thank God

I think that dominance was for about 2 ryder cups. For a very very long time it was USA that dominated the singles, frequently overturning leads we had built up during the four somes/ball
