Well, if the birth of your first child were to clash with the first league game at Falmer, which monumental event would you attend (and no cop outs like inducing an early birth etc etc)? Purely hypothetically like.

Fortunately I will be avoiding this scenario having worked out that end of October / early November this year is a bad time to sow the seed.....

Ayone who would rather be at falmer needs to get a life!

There will be THOUSANDS of games at Falmer, your first child being born only happens once!

In the centre circle at half time?

No, wouldn't want the pitch going all Wembley on us.

I think Tesco give you free nappies for life if your waters break in their stores and airlines have been known to dish out complimentary flights under the same circumstances (after they've cleaned the seats )

Wonder what the Albion would arrange if I could manage it? Got to be worth at the very least a couple of season tickets, a mini replica shirt, a signed photo of Alan Navarro and a hot Pukka Pie, surely?

Ah, but there'll only be one FIRST game at Falmer: the lump in your throat as the players run out to GOSBTS, grown men wiping a team from the eye as Bloom, Perry and Dick walk triumphantly across the pitch, soaking up the applause of the first 20,000+ league gate at The Albion for 20 years, the mighty roar from the new North Stand as the game gets under way.

My old man wasn't there when I was born and I turned out OK (in spite of what some would say ;-)

Free tickets to JPT 1st round.

Well I'm sold :falmer:

Still gives me a few months to convince the (non-Albion-supporting) fella then :lolol:

Admittedly I have had to get used to not going regularly through work, so my perspective is different - but it won't bother me overly missing the first game at Falmer.

Don't get me wrong, I'll try very hard to be there - but there will be plenty more where the first one came from, and hopefully bigger games and greater occasions. And to be honest, whenever the first time I go is, whether it's day one, Boxing Day, or whatever, it will still be a special personal moment having a look around, just as I'm sure it will be for everyone else. In fact, I'm now quite glad I haven't been on one of these tours yet.

So it's first child by a street for me.

The current Mrs B is due this October, unlikely that she will be remotely interested in getting on again in time to produce next October so not a debate, only question is will B junior make the 1st game at Falmer?

If it's going to be that close surely a c-section a few days before the opening match would be easy to arrange?

I would be astonished (and slightly disturbed) if it becomes an issue for me, but birth of first child is one of the few things I would miss the first game at Falmer for.
