Problem is the albion offer these lads contracts and then don't help them develop !
Just ask the lads over the last few years what the club has done to help them develop as young footballers !
Most well run clubs have a development coach , too late here but maybe next year but Caskey may be gone by then !

It is happening. Jake Caskey is leaving. He will be on the bench Saturday so that the tribunal sets his fee higher when he leaves in the summer.

A source very close to CAFC. Apparently Jake Caskey is unhappy with the terms we have offered him.
I have heard this kind of action to try and increase compensation, but just how dim our these tribunals.
If there has already been official interest how could such a contrived selection decision possibly effect how much money the club might receive.
Forster is not stupid, surely he will not allow Caskey to be on the bench if this is likely to make the compensation falsely higher than it would otherwise be.
Any compensation is likely to affect Caskey's his own financial package at his new club.

I heard he'll follow Forster to wherever he goes!
I am sure they have been offered contracts and most always accept.
I think Caskey is likely to have more options than most, so with the advice of Forster he may have decided to wait a while as the contract would not then be withdrawn.
The compensation can be significant, I believe unfairly.
I am sure in access of £100,000 as an England Schoolboy and maybe with add ons, but there doesn't seem to be a firm formula to calculate an amount.

Depends if he wants to go to a prem or championship side and sit in the youth team or stiffs for 3 years. Or maybe he fancies his chances in getting in our first team in a couple of years at falmer...

Im quite aware he was delaying in signing his contract or so i was lead to believe but i now understood that he had signed so who knows
Because footballer's are ambitious.
If he and Forster feel he has the ability to compete at a higher level then he might feel it a greater opportunity than to be at BHA's comparitvely under resourced youth system. ( didnt say better !! )
If as the club might demand that they have a stake in Caskey's development up to now, then just how much more might he develop in a highly resourced structure at say a Premier League Club ?
Even if opportunities for first team displays might be limited, many Premier League hopefuls find themselves out on loan and playing at least BHA level anyhow.

Ambition for one, but mainly much better training facilities elsewhere. Pretty sure Charlton have their own facilities rather than having to share with a University.
The sooner we get our own dedicated training ground the better we will.

If he really was that good, a prem side would most probably have him already.

Not sure about that, Premier League Clubs will be looking and considering him and others to buy to add to their own Academies and at the same time BHA will be trying to maximise their own compensation if he leaves, so it can take some time.
You assume that he has a choice of first team football with us and reserves with another higher status club, I would doubt whether that is a realistic immediate option for him.
He is a 15/16yrs old kid with good potential and him and his family needs to try and make a decision that might enhance his chances of him carving out a career as a professional footballer, whatever level that might be.
Maybe BHA is the answer, but that would depend on what quality of development he might receive with us in the next couple of years, Forster will have a view on that.
Also Gus doesn't seem to be looking at our youth products at present, so to experience a similar issue at a club with a higher status is less relevant than previously.
As I mentioned Premier League clubs do loan out players to clubs of at least Brighton level anyhow.
He is unlikely to be in our first team soon so sitting in the 'stiffs' as you say is the likely outcome for a while whether with us or somebody else.
