if you have 12 out of 13 bets in an accumulator and the last event is tomorrow and its fairly certain (10/3) that you will win, will a bookie take you up if you offer to take the payout as it stands?

It's one of the big chains, almost certainly not. If it's a small independent - you might be in luck.

But probably your best option, if you want to ensure you don't end up with nothing, is to head off to Betfair and LAY the bet you have BACKED in your accumulator. Doing so you can adjust your stake, depending on how brave you feel. For example you could LAY such that nomatter the outcome of the remaining event you'll end up with the same amount of cash.

(And 10/3 is far from 'fairly certain'!)

It's the sort of thing Paddy Power would do.

That sounds like cowardice to me.

We need details....

1. How much will you win should the bet ride and the 13th event happens?

2. What is that 13th event?

I'm guessing he means 3/10 and it's Liverpool?

Spot on I had £2 on all slip says I will win £9015.57 if Liverpool win.

I'm shitting myself and expect to lose

Odd were 1/2, 8/13 8/13 8/11 4/5 10/11 10/11 2/1 11/10 6/5 11/8 11/8 + liverpool tomorrow 3/10

I tried to check the payout but the calculator only went to 10 events

If I were you I'd be laying off on Betfair then to make sure you get something out of this.

Anyway - the main point is congratulations!

Now you have to decide how much you want weighted on each outcome.

Obviously your current position is:

Liverpool win - £9,000
Liverpool don't win - £0

You basically have a sliding scale you can adjust between those two numbers, eg...

Liverpool win - £6,000
Liverpool don't win - £3,000

You could LAY Liverpool for £1,000 on Betfair currently at 1.40.

So, if Liverpool do win, you'll collect your accumulator but lose the liability on Betfair (0.40, so that's £400 you'll have to stump up if Liverpool do win - not too much of a dent to the £9,000 you'll be picking up at the bookies)

However, should Liverpool fail to deliver the goods at home, then you've got the consolation of a grand to collect.
