I would like to ask Palace fans if they have enjoyed seeing us so severely compromised financially, during the last fifteen years or so, that we have struggled to survive and nearly went out of business.

I would like them to answer honestly.

No, obviously! But the vast majority of you are so right. Neither Palace or Brighton will never win the Premiership, we'll never win the FA Cup and we'll never amount to anything. But what we have is a hardcore fanbase of passionate, knowledgable and somewhat deluded fans who spunk untold amounts of money on a club for no particularly logical reason. We are the essence of football, what football is about and this is what no Premiership armchair fan will ever understand while banging one out to Jamie Redknapp's inane comments on Sky.

Palace hate Brighton and that feeling is reciprocated, rivalry is one of the true pleasures left in football and we would hate you to go out of business, we want you to be in the same league as us, preferably the Premiership. Then the whole country can see what a great rivalry we have. We hate each other, but because of that we share a kind of mutual respect and will help each other out when needed. I suspect we will be fine anyway, but those who voted yes to this are somewhat moronic. Actually, not somewhat moronic, unbelievably moronic!

Not financially, no.
With you being in the lower reaches for a while, it's made the meetings all the more spicy and exciting to look forward to.
If I'm honest, I was rooting for you scum when you played Hereford.

Don't worry SW, we're behind you

As much as I loathe them, I wanted Palace to beat United in the FA Cup Final, at least they know how to suffer following a shower of shite just like us, and do it for love, rather than glory.

This.

Yes, Palace fans might smell a bit. Yes, they might consider the very idea of homosexuality, let alone implying that someone is homosexual, as pant-wettingly funny as a blinking, retarded nine year old in a school playground. And yes, they may all be bespectacled nerds who generally look a bit like Les off Vic Reeves Big Night Out, only with more drooling. Especially the women.

But hugely irritatingly, I've never met a Palace fan who wasn't what most of us would consider a real football fan: knowledgeable and passionate about their entirely useless and pitiable club. So no, of course no-one deserves for their club to go out of business, not even those freaks.

You know what, I haven't enjoyed it all. While it's been a boost to our egos having you in a lower league to us bar 2 seasons in the last 15 years or so, we've had to put up with Charlton's childish battle for our affections; 'Please hate us Palace!'. We've missed you to be honest.

I simply cannot understand anyone with a yes vote. I remember as a teenager the intense rivalry when we were in the same promotion and relegation battles year after year. Boxing day fixtures that involved more than just boxing.

Great to have a chance to have some fun at their expense, but as the others say on here, no way do I want them to go to the wall

I don't like Palace and enjoy the rivalry with them so wouldn't want them to go under.

Of course not. It happened to us before, remember?

I have enjoyed the (sensible) banter and will continue to enjoy it whilst the shoe is on the other foot.

No, but would love to see them lose all their best players, their manager, and get relegated...

Sense reigns.

When I was little you could walk to the Goldstone with Palace fans and talk about players, teams, and tactics.

Afterwards you could spend time and analyse the result, and look forward to the return match.
No bullshit about standing up if you hate Palace.Just two football teams trying to win and progress;teams supported by similar people with similar dreams for their clubs.

So would I want to see Palace go under ?

No more than I would want to see the Albion suffer that fate.

Or any other team,at any other level.

Thank you.
