Worked with many Palace fans over the years and they love their club as much as we love ours. Also both my Palace colleagues and I always loved the continual and bemused looks from various "casual" premiership supporters about how a rivalry between Brighton and Thornton Heath endured across the years.

I want Palace in our division - and preferably that'll be us in the Champ/Prem rather than Div 1. Maybe Tony B and Tango man can have a hand for Moses?

Doesn't even warrant a poll.Of course they shouldn't go under...and they won't either!

Don't want them to go under but I do want them to fall out of the league and as low down the football pyramid as possible - mainly because many Palace fans were saying the same about BHA when the Goldstone was sold/we played Hereford to stay in the league so f*** 'em is what I say.

yes, but that would be an unrequited hatred, they hate southampton, it would be a bit sad for our main hatred to be a club for whom we are a mere irittant, a bit like how charlton are desperately trying to claim palace as rival, when palace aren't really intersted.
You are quite right for Portsmouth and Southampton fans there is only one rivalry, perhaps we'll have several lesser rivals than just one big one.....I don't think we're that popular with any of the southern teams tbh, except Charlton with who we share a common foe (in their eye's at least).

In reality we all expect Palace to be fine, so its not really going to be a problem.

Amusing, coming from a Chelsea fan.

who has been to as many games as you this season, will be twice as many after the orient game , plastic fans eh ?:lolol:
Shouldn't you be taking the piss out of a Fulham or QPR fan? You know, one of your proper rivals?

Brighton are a sort of second club for me, big deal , besides i'll happily be told what to to re the albion by a genuine fan who goes to games , not some fair weather armchair fan like yourself.

PS You can always disprove my armchair fan comment by telling me how many games you've been to over the past , say, two seasons?

What real football fan would want to see any club go under?

This.

Yes, Palace fans might smell a bit. Yes, they might consider the very idea of homosexuality, let alone implying that someone is homosexual, as pant-wettingly funny as a blinking, retarded nine year old in a school playground. And yes, they may all be bespectacled nerds who generally look a bit like Les off Vic Reeves Big Night Out, only with more drooling. Especially the women.

But hugely irritatingly, I've never met a Palace fan who wasn't what most of us would consider a real football fan: knowledgeable and passionate about their entirely useless and pitiable club. So no, of course no-one deserves for their club to go out of business, not even those freaks.

Suffer yes, go out of business no. I live far too close to Smellworst Park to want their chavs to find a new hobby on Saturdays. As it Admninstration doesn't seem to have done that much harm to Leeds or Southampton. Only their creditors will be sorry.

No absolutely, completely and utterly no!

It's a rivalry, a massive rivalry, but at the end of the day, sit down and share a pint with a Palace fan and they are exactly like you and I. We love the game, we follow our local club through thickness and thin, and the stories we have of clubs are largely the same. They are stories of near misses, what ifs, competing against the odds, and ultimately still going and enjoying the rollercoaster ride.

Thank you I enjoyed reading this, almost shed a tear in fact.

I couldn't bear the thought of not going through the elation of the last 3-2 win at Withdean, after our humiliation at Selhurst, ever again.:lolol:

Yes, i'm getting too old for all this hatred! It would be far more relaxing if they were no longer around, and we could get back to just not liking other clubs!

No ... definitely not

Seagulls and Eagles came from two different eggs but we have a link/rivalry that goes back over 30 years.

I also remember the support we got from many of their true fans during the Falmer campaign and must never forget the REMF link

No, every team needs a good long term meaningful rival and if they went to the wall we'd have none. Plus, next season, with a bit of luck, we should be playing them home and away and head to head all season for a promotion spot, oh the memories....
