Funny... I didn't think anyone mentioned that Poyet knew Carole from his time at Leeds...

Albion are poised to sign Seb Carole again, this time on a week-to-week deal.

The French winger has been training with the Seagulls and manager Gus Poyet, who knows Carole from their time together at Leeds, believes he can get the best out of him.

Poyet said: "I know Seb better than anyone. It is probably going to be a compromise between the manager and player and that could be beneficial to the club. We just need to finalise a few little bits."

I don't think it is a good idea, but I am not at all surprised.
Show us what you can do Seb

Cracking use of Poyet's "amazing contacts" so fair. A player flogged at him by Dean Cox's agent, and a player who's been here twice already, the second time disasterously, and who Poyet worked with at Leeds.

Shambles.

Good player, hopefully Poyet might get a wicked attack from our wings, with Bennett not having to cover both both wings, straight out 4 4 2 or a 4 3 3 with Crofts and Dicker fighting for the center spot...

Lets hope Seb can rekindle some of that talent he showed on his first stint. Poyet may be the tonic he needs.

In fact I was working in Leeds when Seb was there, the fans loved him, but he was played deep and must have been told not to shoot but to pass the ball more into the box. I thought he looked good at Elland Road but was restricted by the tactics.

I agree but lets see if Poyet can get more out of Carole than Adams/Slade managed to. We all know there is a good player in there.
As for Inigo, lets give him a chance!

Carole a better option than Cox on the right? - certainly if Poyet can get the best out of him tactically.

Maybe, just maybe, we are beginning to see the beginning of a team/squad with better balance

I personally think it's a shrewd bit of business from Poyet getting him in on a week-by-week deal. We basically have nothing to lose and if he does well I'd imagine he'll be offered a longer term deal, if not we'll wave him bye bye.

I am having trouble recalling a single decent cross by Carole, which I always thought was a useful attribute in a winger, but I am prepared to be surprised.

Small matter of Elliott Bennett, who is miles better than BOTH of them.

Why we need 3 right wingers I don't know, when we have only McLeod to play on the left.

Still, I'll go along with the "must agree with whatever Poyet does because he is new, foreign, flair and not Adams or Slade" approach, and ignore the fact that he has just made a shit signing. Thank god it's only on a weekly basis.

Oh, and I'll also ignore the fact that Poyet's signings have all been freebies so far, so we can kid ourselves that Bloom has given Gus £4 million to spend.

I think that in the 2006/07 season when he was at Leeds with Wise & Poyet he had the most assists in the Leeds squad.

Very dissapointed

He was absolutely awful last year for us. I remember his sub appearance against MK Dons which was truely shambolic. He never made the bench again all season if I am correct.

If we get Monkhouse, atleast Carole won't get a look in :lolol:

Thanks Greens :(
In the few games I've seen since GP took over, we have, in spells, played some neat passing football. He obviously has an idea how he wants the team to play and is assembling his squad to do this on the pitch. I don't know if anybody agrees, but the tidy, 10-pass moves just haven't been there for ages. At one point on Boxing Day, attacking the away end, we put about fifteen passes together and my heart skipped a beat. I thought, 'Thank f*ck for that! We can still do it!...'

More of the same please
